You can have that plus-sized soda when you pull it from their ice-cold, not-yet-dead hands.
That was the sentiment on display yesterday in New York City, where the "
Million Big Gulp March" (which only drew about a dozen heads) took place to protest Mayor Bloomberg's
soda ban. Deemed nothing less than an affront to "the principles on which our country was founded" by one attendee, others took a more comical approach to the sugary drink crackdown.
"Hands off my Bladder" read the sign of one city resident, who claimed that "for a ban as ridiculous as this one, we need a protest with some humor."
But the mayor himself wasn't laughing. "If you want to kill yourself, I guess you have the right to do it," Bloomberg
told reporters earlier in the day. "We're trying to do something about it."
