Rally 'Round Obamacare

Quick: What do you do when you need to paint someone in power as corrupt and irresponsible? Call them activists and partisan hacks, of course! From Congress' paper of note, The Hill :

Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said President Obama should campaign against the Supreme Court, painting it as a conservative, activist institution if it rules that the administration's healthcare law is unconstitutional.

"In terms of the Congress, I believe that it would be off-base for us to do that, but for the president, I don't think it is," Clyburn said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Monday.

Yes, the court's decision will be a political centerpiece for the upcoming presidential election and yes, if overturned it'll be the equivalent of detonating a nuclear bomb in the political class. Why? The New York Times reports:

"If this court overturns the individual mandate, it will galvanize Democrats to use the courts as a campaign issue," said Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress, a liberal research organization. "The idea that we would have gone through Bush v. Gore, Citizens United and now this."

And that's the rhetoric one can see across the many, many articles detailing the court's review. It seems if a justice dares to question any aspect of the law they're instantly catapulted into the ranks of Miss Havisham, Professor Moriarty, and of course, Hitler.
