Talk about turning the proverbial table on the powers that be.
allowing citizens to shoot at police. Or more accurately, it allows citizens to fire at police if they believe their property is being illegally entered upon by armed civil servants.
The law, spearheaded by Republican Sen. Michael Young and the National Rifle Association, was crafted in reaction to an Indiana Supreme Court ruling last year stating there was no right whatsoever to reasonably resist unlawful entry by police officers.
Not surprisingly, police themselves are not too keen on the law. "Somebody is going get away with killing a cop because of this law," said Sgt. Joseph Hubbard of the Jeffersonville, Indiana police department.
