If the Republican outreach to Latinos keeps
stumbling, the following is a reason why.
Hypervocal points us to a Republican party foul, flub and/or faux pas on the part of the Republican National Committee that saw it using images of
Asian kids in an online campaign dubbed "
RNCLatinos" aimed at attracting more
Hispanics to the GOP.
While the stock photos of kids looking gleeful and upbeat was tagged with the words "Asian," "Japanese," and "Thailand," that fact was apparently missed by the folks at the RNC who are now undoubtedly looking a bit, well, red-faced.
As
Hypervocal sarcastically points out, the error compounds the already strained effort by Republicans to convert Latinos to their cause: "As it stands now, Obama only holds a 43-point lead among Latino voters."
