The Justice Department's Inspector General issued its internal investigation report on Operation Fast and Furious gunwalking scandal, according to Politico. The report recommends disciplinary action for 14 government officials at the Department of Justice headquarters, the ATF headquarters and its field office in Arizona, and finally the US Attorney's Office in Arizona.

The report also finds that Attorney General Eric Holder wasn't aware of Operation Fast and Furious until the scandal erupted after the death of US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

    what else could it be,obama stepped up to cover for holder,a bunch walked out showing support, and he was not investigated by an outside source. something most big police departments now have being you can't have someone to police themselves and get real results.

    no different than the old guarding the chicken house saying.

    So let me get this straight - The investigator reports that his boss, the guy who can fire his ass, had no idea anything bad was going on, and that's credible because why?

    Frankly, if Holder really had no idea about Fast and Furious, that is just as much a failure of oversight as if he did know about it.

    could also have something to do with not wanting to do anything to the first black ag,like the reason the dems walked out on the vote.

    @tomincali - You make an interesting point. If we have reached the level of political correctness that a person cannot be held accountable for wrongdoing simply because he is black, then our nation is doomed.

    I can only imagine the election-year hyperbole that would result from AG Holder dismissing an OIG staffer who wrote a report critical of the AG himself. It's almost as hard to imagine any AG who could personally supervise 124,000 employees, as your "failure of oversight" comment implies. http://goo.gl/dacyf

    @DARSB - Holder's already done more incredulous things than that, like failing to prosecute the New Black Panthers for intimidating voters at a polling place. He's already Satan to conservatives so I don't see why he'd be afraid of what they'd say if he fired someone to save his ass.

    Meanwhile, if you're suggesting that the head of agency is not responsible for the things that agency does simply because it's a large agency, I sincerely hope you are never places in charge of anything sizable.

    Great! I guess there's no need for that executive privilege. Now maybe Eric Holder can turn over all those documents that Darrell Issa has been asking for and stop stonewalling the House Oversight Committee.

    The truth is President Obama cannot invoke executive privilege to protect communication between him and his staff, for something they did not know about and never spoke about? Therefore they did know and communicated about F&F and are hiding that information from the public and Congress. BO, if you have nothing to hide, drop EP and release the requested documents. This is no way to run "the most transparent administration in history ".:P

    i don't think there is anything left to show on those papers. with all the stalling done gave plenty of time to remove all things that point. the only reason to stall is to cover up,thats the way i see it.

    try the same thing in a court as a defendant and see how that stalling works. your door would be kicked and everything in your home and office would be sitting at the d.a.'s office.

    Yes. But as Gowdy and Isaa have been saying this entire time, they knew that Holder didn't know about it. But they also knew that Holder should have known. And why is Holder so reluctant to turn over the documents if he's not responsible?

    It's a 500 page report. I'll tell ya when I've looked at it.(Hell, I haven't found a copy yet.) Everyone else who has an opinion in jumping the gun.

    Nope. Our government whittingly supplied the cartel with arms and ammunition. Meanwhile, mexico is a warzone. Surely the bloodshed tens of miles away wont effect the US

    No, I sincerely doubt he knew nothing about this fiasco. However, if he truly did not, then he is a clueless idiot who should not be in the position he is. He has, in his position, a responsibility to know!

    when you investigate yourself what do you expect the finding to be? Holder is as corrupt as the rest of the Obama bunch! What a lying bunch of thugs.

    NO atf agent ever does "anything" without it being run up the chain of command, multiple times, with Justice DIRECTLY involved. HE knew exactly what was going on, because he was in on the design of the program, for political gain, they thought. The truth will eventually come out, what will the liberal nutcases say then ?

    Anytime committees are formed, business decisions are made, the CEO IS NOT left out of the loop, he's made aware of it all.

    With that being said, Holder knew of Fast and Furious, he's the top dog leading the pact, most likely giving his ideas and thoughts to making this project come to fruition. it's sop to cma, when things fail. It's lie or throw someone under the buss.
    It really helps to have powerful people on your side for protection from fall.out. Only those who hide their heads from the truth, remain steadfast in innocence.
