u Tue Crimson24 v Yes If you can smoke, fight for our country, enter adulthood, and vote at 18, then why not allow the consumption of alcohol? Post
u Tue KW900A v No that would not be a good idea, however in NYC they are trying to RAISE the Age from 18 to 21 to purchase tobacco, which is stupid. I don't even smoke Post
Mon FreedomFighter v Yes If 18 is old enough to go to war and die for this country. Then it is old enough to have a drink. Post

Jun 15 Tazman v Yes If a young man or young lady can lay their life down to defend this country. They should damn sure be able to have a drink with family and friends before doing so and after surviving it. Post
Jun 14 jimbo375 v Yes Why not? U can drive, vote and serve in the military. Hell you can get married have children. If your grown-up enough for all this why not drinking? Just saying. Post
Jun 13 Snuffo_L v No Young age and alcohol is an explosive mix like a detonator and a stick of dynamite. Post
u Jun 10 akita96th v Yes Its time to quit making criminals out of our children...Getting busted with a beer is a major offense and I for one dont like the over bearing law...Glad I am not young in these crazy times of Whinny nannies looking for ways to regulate our lives when they should just live their own and leave the rest of us alone.. They dont lock up their young in Europe and they can drink all they want. B1 r1 reply Post
u Jun 16 KentuckyJim This is very true. I feel like it would be so much easier for all around if we had less government and just a small set of common sense laws in place. In my town it is illegal to buy a beer on Sunday but just a short 15 minute drive in either direction and I can buy all I want. And pay taxes on it out of town too. @KentuckyJim Post
Jun 9 Tejano1969 v No Not with this generation of kids... They do it anyways... Don't make it easier. Post
u Jun 8 tressa4 v No We should also raise the age of purchasing and smoking cigarettes to 22 - AFTER COLLEGE influence gets a hold of our kids. Post
Jun 6 Xavier_Onassis v No Joining the military, serving as a soldier, sailor and Marine and drinking are different things. 18 years olds make good soldiers but dangerous drunks. They can be fine soldiers and still be terrible when driving drunk. Let them enlist and serve in the military, but make them wait to drink until they can handle their booze. If they were going to drink with the adult supervision of an officer that was trained to keep them from driving while drunk, it would be okay, but this is NOT the case. "If you are old enough to die for your country, you are old enough to drink" is bad, stupid logic. Post
Jun 5 RedFloppyShoes v Yes If we can send an 18 year old to war and allow them to vote, they should be able to drink. Post
u Jun 1 jmh v No !8year olds are not responsible enough The voting age should be raised to 40 if their parents are on welfare or food stamp assistance Post
May 30 Sheppardddd v Yes As far as I'm concerned any man that can give his life for his country can have a beer any day with me, Post
May 28 Mark_Hinkle v Yes Actually, there should be no drinking age laws period. Laws that are routinely violated cheapen respect for real laws against violating rights of individuals. This is an issue that should be left to parents, not the police. Post
u May 28 butterflysky v No In Australia the drinking age is 18 and this is also the age young people can get a driving licence . The outcome of this of course is mostly a disaster . I don't have the statistics at hand but the drinking & driving cause many car accidents not only to the driver but also to the friends in the car and to other innocent people. Post
u May 27 robertmeeks v No NO, I will not let underage to drink into drunkard and drive behind the wheels. I rather to keep the laws for over 21 years old with legalize insurances. r2 replies Post
u May 29 robertmeeks @NowOrNever , hi , I feel that there will be tempt to change laws for drinking age again and again because I rather to stay over 21 years old in instead of repeat until 16 years old. I say "no" due to insurance policies for involving with accidents and wrecks. @robertmeeks Post
u Oct '12 ctc v Yes You can drive, vote, work and pay taxes, enlist in the military and go to war to protect our freedoms, even have an abortion, but somehow.........having a drink in a bar is off limits. Breaking news..........these people(18-21) already drink......time to give them back that responsibility for their actions that most current lawmakers had when they were 18. Oct '12 LGRepublican v No Absolutely not. Having worked in a bar/club for 20 years, I can tell you first hand the LAST thing we need is more young, dumb, and out of control kids hanging out and getting drunk. Generally speaking, there were usually two types that caused the vast majority of the problems, the middle aged guy who over did it and the "I just turned 21, think I know everything and nothing can stop me" guy. The difference is the middle aged guy over does it once, maybe twice a year while the 21 year old superman does it every weekend. Now imagine adding a crowd of people who are even younger, less responsible, and out of control. I can guarantee you lower the drinking age and what yo... B6 r2 replies e75 endorsed Post
Oct '12 Buzzfriendly v Yes At 18 you are treated as an adult in all other respects. You can be drafted, and die for your country, the courts will punish you as an adult, and depending on the state be executed, you can vote for the person to run the country all the way down to your locality, you are taxed by your government, but you can't have a drink of alcohol? Either raise the age for all of these other rights, or punishments to 21, or allow an adult to drink at 18. B5 e37 endorsed Post
Oct '12 dances-weebles v No it was 18 for ages, and then it was raised to 21... for a reason. i believe that it should be raised even higher. B3 r25 replies e24 endorsed Post

Oct '12 cynic v Yes The drinking age was 18 when I turned 18. If youâre old enough to be drafted into military service youâre old enough to drink. Growing up if I wanted a beer all I needed to do is ask. Even as a young teen. There was no curiosity. When I turned 18 there was no desire to go to a bar to celebrate the ability to legally drink. In so many ways we harm our children with our desire to protect them. B2 e10 endorsed Post
