Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has issued a dire warning to the unfortunate souls populating the United States of America: "Every plague that is written in the Koran is going to come to pass in America."
In a speech last Sunday to 6,000 attentive listeners at Charlotte, North Carolina's Bojangles' Coliseum, the controversial figure likened the US to Babylon, Rome, and ancient Egypt. And not in a good way:
All of the punishments that are written in the Koran never came to pass in the time of Prophet Muhammad...never - but every plague - every plague that is written in the Koran is going to come to pass in America under the modern Pharaoh, in the modern Rome, in the modern Babylon, in the modern Sodom and Gomorrah - take it or let it alone.
But it wasn't
all doom, gloom and prophecy
reports Billy Hallowell at
The Blaze. Aside from the critical remarks about the US, Farrakhan spoke of the importance of education for women in the Muslim world and condemned so-called "honor killings."
According to journalist Robert Fisk, such killings take as many as 20,000 lives per year in the Middle East and South Asia.
