Um maybe Christie is up to his eyeballs in the worst disaster to ever hit his state and the fact that the pres is rolling up his sleeve to help him means more than if he offends the delicate feelings of the rep candidate.

I'm beginning to like Gov. Christie more and more. And I'm a Progressive. He has the brass to tell Fox News, Priebus, McConnell, and Boehner to stuff it, there's a disaster going on.
  • !
These conservatives don't like anything real. They're mad b/c this seems like a match made in heaven? They wanted Christie to be partisan after that kind of devastation to his home state? I am liking Christie more and more. Christie is a democrat in a republican's body. Loll

@NormalFlora i agree 100%. Obama is doing 100 times better than bush ever thought about doing during katrina and he is the whole reason the gas prices didn't go back down after the refineries started back up because bush and Cheney both have there pockets padded by the oil companies and that's why when they lifted the cap off oil prices temporarily it never was put back where it should have been the cap was at 60.00 a barrel and i could understand due to inflation for it to go up to 70.00 a barrel the cap it back off again

not only has Obama not done anything while he's down there on the ground he stopped everything else from getting done

How silly, Christie need tons of money for NJ, they suffered costly damages and if letting Obama have a photo op in his quest to look presidential in the time of a crisis, after all Rhom taught Obama to never let a crisis go to waste, gets him the money he needs for NJ, I say go for it. No one in their right mind would in any way think this was an endorsement for the reelection of Obama. I know the left is trying to make a big deal about it, but it's just not a big deal at all.
  • !
"The left" is making a big deal? The article only mentioned conservative critics. Who else has made similar comments?
  • !
@DARSB The right is just mad that their guy is being thoughtful and doing something for his home state. Romney wants to cut off FEMA and in time like these, states would be overwhelmed to handle such problems on their own.

@marine1 I think he's getting gray, it gets hard worrying about when your going to go on Letterman, AGAIN.
It's probably also troublesome trying to decide what to wear when partying with Beyonce, Jay Z, and going to
Vegas ( as our soldiers were dead), I mean worrying about if you'll win or lose at the Roulette Wheel and slots,
Hey, being President is a big fu**ing Deal, Just ask Biden, he'll tell ya, if he can remember... lol
  • !
@marine1 You mean to make him appear to be worrying about our country? I don't know, he's a shady one, maybe...

Christie made the right choice. Jersey was an obama state anyway and christie did what was best for his state and HIS political future.Nothing like working the other side of the aisle.
  • !
I seriously doubt Christie has jumped fence to the other side. He is doing his job nothing more. This man no matter his political standing seems to be one hell've guy! After doing some reading about him on my own he would catch my attention if he ran for president.

@Keyjo That's not true! He'd outsource it to China. They have lower labor costs and he knows them very well from outsourcing so much Bain business there.
  • !
@MBernard I heard that Romney told the people in the path of the storm not to risk it. He told them to strap their dogs to the top of their cars and head to higher ground.
  • !
@PNWest well, I heard after the storm, he told the people that lost their home to borrow money from their parents to rebuild.

Christie has out partisanship aside in the face of great human tragedy. Kudos to him. I have a new found respect for him.
In the words of another great Republican, Jon Huntsman, "My country before my party."
  • !
Christie is betting on a return to sanity for the GOP after they lose next week. This is the first steps in the Christie 2016 campaign.
  • !
Why must politicians be attacked for doing the right thing. This is the problem we have to day everyone is so focused on ideology that no one is working together.
  • !
Glad to see Chris Christie dismiss partisanship to work hand in hand with the President on behalf of the citizens of New Jersey......this should be the norm.
I would take a serious look at him if he ran in 2016.

The left isn't the one crying the blues. The ultra right is. Christie is doing his job as a Governor, Obama doing his job as President and the ultra right can't get beyond their hillbilly hate.
  • !
I do not think he is trying to help Obama. Think of it this way. Christie has a job to do. Obama has a job to do. It requires them to meld together to get things accomplished in order to overcome this national tragedy. I think it speaks highly of Christie and the Republican Party to praise someone of the other party. It does not mean that Obama is any more competent than he was before this disaster or that Christie is being patronizing. If you are undecided about whom you are voting for and you let Gov. Christie's praise of Obama lead you to decide to vote for Obama, then I think you are very misguided. The fact that Obama did the right thing is insignificant. That is what he is supposed to do as President. He should have done the same thing in Libya but he refused. That will cost him the election.

Christie, like any successful politician, is more of a pragmitist than an ideologue.

As for Obama, he's gotta perform. If he starts drawing fire because he bungled this one, the election will be lost.
  • !
A lot of the GOP wanted Christie to run this time but he refused because he knew Obama would win. What Christie is doing is exactly what Sarah Palin did about this time 4 years ago - going rogue. Christie will run in 2016. He has already thrown in the towel on this one and is trying to get an early advantage by looking sane in a pool of people like Cain, Perry, Gingrich, Paul, Bachmann and Santorum. He's doing a great job and if the GOP was smart they would forget about Romney and save their energy for Christie.
  • !
I truly and honestly wish Christie would just come out of the closet and just go over to the other side where he belongs. The liberal media is having a field day with this story, but worst than that, Christie is allowing it. America is facing a dire choice, and we don't need the likes of Christie to muddy that choice.
  • !
@PNWest - He's insane. He's a social liberal, but a fiscal conservative. He doesn't understand how the social policies affect the fiscal policies. A nation where children are raised by welfare checks instead of fathers is a nation that will become more and more dependent, and thus bankrupt. We need to push a strict social agenda, as it is the only way to fix our education problems and our economic problems. If Christie doesn't believe in conservatism, he is more than welcome to go to the other side of the aisle.

Some funny stuff here. Now they're calling Christie a RHINO. I remember when these same people early on were calling Romney a RHINO and saying he would NEVER be the choice of the Republican Party. Well today Romney said there was nothing wrong in what Christie is doing. Said it's Obama doing his Job as president and Christie doing his job as governor. So what is it? Romney is back to being a RHINO for saying that it's OK for Christie to do his job?
  • !
Yeah he should have told Obama he didn't want federal help and let more people suffer even more and possibly die so that mittens doesn't look bad. You are so freaking Coulter. Get your head out of your Rush.
  • !
Pray for victims of Hurricane Sandy! It does not matter if you are Republican, Democrat, or Independent. We all need to pull together on the recovery effort.
  • !
This just goes to show how small minded some of these conservative personalities are.

Making something out of a governor cooperating in a good way with the president in a situation like this.

Although conservative, Christie seems to be a real guy, not one of those that have just decided that eveything the president does is crap, whether it is or not.
  • !
Perhaps Christie is actually commending him because he actually feels the need. It seems like only when a natural disaster or man initiated disaster such as 911happens is the only time Americans can forget political affiliation and pull together....excluding this natural disaster during this absurdly heated anger filled election..... But that don't change the fact i still don't like obama or his policies lol.....had to get that in there
  • !
If he were in fact against Romney would it not make sense for him to be? If hes gearing up for a presidential run, which does seem likely, would it not make sense to help out the guy who would put that potential run 4 years away instead of 8?

Or of course it might be .. yanno... a conservative actually doing the work they were hired for, instead of towing the party line.

    It's all fixed now.
Obama flew over New Jersey in a helicopter today, so everything is fixed now.
Remember after Katrina, when GW did the exact same thing, and was attacked by the left?
Ohhhh,... the hypocrisy of the left!
One good thing for PolitixMary is that the post birth abortion clinics are open for business again, because as you say, thats what liberals are all about!
    It's just amazing!
Obama takes two hours off from his campaign, for a helicopter ride, and ALL is fixed!
Maybe he should have done that in Benghazi?
  • !
It is truly sad to see that you are from Michigan and that you think this way. Your state economy would be f***ed if it wasn't for Obama.
