A video of 4-year old Abigael Evans of Colorado crying to her mother that she was tired of "Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney" has gone viral in the last 24 hours or so, and it's apparently all NPR's fault.
The Fort Collins girl and her mother were listening to a National Public Radio program discussing the presidential election when Abigael began crying, apparently fed up with the incessant coverage of the race. Her mom later posted the video online, and the rest is history.
In a quasi-jokey letter to the girl, NPR host Mark Memmot wrote the following in an effort to console the child:
On behalf of NPR and all other news outlets, we apologize to Abigael and all the many others who probably feel like her. We must confess, the campaign's gone on long enough for us, too. Let's just keep telling ourselves: 'Only a few more days, only a few more days, only a few more days.'
Now their making little girls cry! I'm real tired of 'Bronco Bamma too, and I've had about enough! On Nov. 6th the poor little thing can stop crying, because 'Bronco Bamma is leaving, he's going back to Community Organizing! HAPPY TRAILS !!!
@rrh7152 She's a 4 year old!!! Of course she would prefer cartoons! I'm sure that at age 4 you would prefer to be home playing or watching cartoons rather then on your way to the grocery store with political talk on the radio. Jesus you Republicans have a patholical need to bitch and judge don't you?
84% chance of Obama winning with at least Plus 1 Maj'ty...The Republicans could've won this one. The RP -- Tea splits lost them in 2012. The little girl has had to endure too much campaigning. Limit time, limit money in 2016.
The operative words were "both canidates" were making her cry. We're all tired of the bs.The name calling, the racist s##t espeically. Why don't you guys admit you hate Obama because he's black, you'll sleep better at night.
I can see why this little girl is crying! Sometimes I am so fed up with the Obama campaign and the Obama media that I feel like crying! This election has really token a toll on my interest in politics. And I figured I should put this one this one thought out there. Did anyone on here think for a minute that this could be fake?
@Starsplash Sorry, this app is so stupid, it makes you post unfinished comments! As far as I can tell, the Romney campaign hasn't done anything sickening at all, plus she said she was crying because of Mitt Romney, and Barack Obama! She said nothing about the campaigns! I was only making a suggestion that it was the Obama campaign's deception that made her cry.
Way to go Republicans! You took a cute story about an adorable little girl who is tired of hearing about the presidential race and turned it into yet another one of your bitch about everything fiestas.
Mom could have turned the radio off and given the poor girl a break. It's hardly NPR's fault, but typical lib mom gets out the video camera and lays the guilt trip on the people she chose to turn on and force her child to listen to. Poor little tyke has my sympathy.
"... typical lib mom ... " You're making an assumption. This story didn't list the mother's political affiliation, you're just assuming she's a liberal because she listens to NPR. Many independents and no few conservatives listen to NPR now and then.
They were on the way to the grocery store!!!!! Guilt trip???? Did you here the mother letting a few laughs slip? Her daughter was doing something cute and she wanted to share the adorable ness so she got out her phone, took a quick video and shared the joy. You people need to get a sense of humor or a nice warm glass of happy Gilmore style milk.
Mom says that Abigael doesn't watch TV, so it appears that the only time the child is exposed to political discussion and news is when she accompanies her mom as she runs errands, which based on her "knowing a lot," seems to be pretty often. There are precious few places on the radio dial where one would consistently hear that "Mitt Romney is a bad guy who just wants money," and NPR is the "leader" of that pack.
NPR has apologized to Abigael for upsetting her. We'll never get an apology from NPR for abusing their government funding by feeding the nation left-driven drivel day after day.
Just think sweetie...after Romney wins Mommy and Daddy will know they won't have to pay huge Obama taxes in January! Then they will be able to give you a better Christmas...and a brighter future because you won't have to pay back all that Obama debt off...for those he's spending it on for today!
@dances-weebles The debt he promised to cut in half... remember when he made that dopey promise or it would be a "one term proposition"? You know, the one he called Bush "immoral" for...instead he doubled down on a bunch of failed "green companies" and stimulus crap that still hasn't paid off yet...all that debt!
@BravoJuliet whatever... you can stay in your little fantasy world filled with hatred and ignorance. enjoy your life because i don't care. you deserve for romney to get elected and completely trash the u.s.
