In a last-minute show of support, Sarah Palin posted a Facebook note urging Republicans to back Mitt Romney.
"On Tuesday, please vote for Governor Mitt Romney and the commonsense conservatives running for office in your state," wrote the former governor of Alaska. "Governor Romney understands how the free market works...Governor Romney deserves a chance to lead. President Obama had his chance."
Palin still has a lot of influence with Tea Party voters, and her support could mobilize them to get out and vote for Romney. Her endorsement is perhaps all the stronger for being delayed so long. Previously, Palin warmly endorsed Newt Gingrich and seemed pretty lukewarm in her feelings for Romney.
Most of Palin's endorsement focused not on Romney's strengths, but on Obama's ineptitude. The statement offers 13 paragraphs cataloguing Obama's abysmal failures and weaknesses, and just one paragraph affirming that the Romney Ryan ticket is what America needs.
Palin also reminds Republicans to get out and vote in the downticket races for Senate and House, to avert the alleged "destruction" wrecked by the Democrat-controlled White House, House, and Senate in 2009.
I made a joke here, but I guess someone has no sense of humor and got the moderators to delete it. I even wrote into the comment that I was kidding. Sheesh! Can't we have a little levity now and then? I'm so tired of the rancor.
@Denizen_Kate no doubt. they've seemed to be pretty touchy all evening. They did that to a few other posters earlier, not sure why. I mean , one said to somebody "glad to see your sobered up" and they removed it.
I don't think McCain helped himself. The day I voted I honestly considered Obama, but feared he would be worse than even the far right thought. He was/is. I think McCain regretted trying out for POTUS about the time the economy started melting down. If he'd been more like Palin I think he might have atleast lost gracefully.
@WilliamWallace No one ever wrote an article about mine or your thoughts. Sorry you couldn't see the humor in a woman who was on a ticket that got smoked being spoken of as someone who was going to drive a campaign to victory 4 years later.
Whenever I hear the histrionics of Palin or Bachmann I always wonder whether the founders and wise men of so many religions, indeed our own forefathers, knew something I don't know in regard to relegating women to second class status. Sounds like another last minute non-endorsement endorsement.
She posted via Facebook... Must not be newsworthy anymore huh Sarah. Maybe its time for another reality show, the last one did so much for your career. Go away, Hasbeen. Your 15 has been over for a LONG time now.
Yes Sarah Palin’s last minute endorsement will help Mitt Romney.
Republicans See Early Vote Surge Trending for Romney
"What we're seeing consistently ... is that there is a general underperforming in places where President Obama needs to do well and there's an over-performing in places where Governor Romney does well," Romney's political director Rich Beeson said on "Fox News Sunday." http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/election-rom...
'please allow mitt Romney to win so I can seem semi relevant in the political climate even though I dislike him BC he's Mormon and wears stinky magic undergarments. If you don't vote for him though then I might as well go live in a cabin in Alaska again, and kill a deer.'- You're bff Sarah!! Go Pubs!!! *slightly modified for humor **im also a hunter but she a class act
