Analyst predicted Romney landslide

Dick Morris went out on a limb in predicting a presidential race landslide for Mitt Romney. He was more than a bit off, with President Obama claiming at least 303 Electoral College votes - far more than the 270 needed to win. Which raises a question about the FOXNews analyst - does he have any credibility left?

Morris tried to explain his bad pick on "The O'Reilly Factor" Wednesday. "I plead guilty, I goofed, I made a mistake. I under-counted the minority turnout and women and young people, single women." About the Obama campaign's wildly successful get-out-the-vote operation: "I thought that the 2008 turnout was a fluke."

Morris has made errant predictions before. His 2005 book, "Condi vs. Hillary" prophesized a Rice-Clinton race that never materialized.

Then there's his history as a political chameleon. He won national fame for his 1996 role as a consultant to President Bill Clinton's successful reelection - before resigning over a prostitution scandal. But he soon turned into a virulent Clinton critic and later a tea party activist.

Some political junkies have had enough of Morris. "In a true market-based economy, @AnnCoulter, @KarlRove and @DickMorrisTweet would all be fired and unemployable now," tweeted comedy writer Eli Braden.
