May 16 Bill2E Nice how you shifted that from men to women. If your not happy in your marriage get a damned divorce, don't cheat. Would be nice if congress persons were of that mind, we might be able to trust them a little more. Just not the case. Post @Bill2E
May 17 busseja @Bill2E Cheating is an emotional decision. Divorce an economic one. As far as women, I have yet to see a woman congresman who would rate and affair. Well no, maybe Barny Frank....There is something for everyone I guess. Post @busseja
May 17 Bill2E @busseja Trust, honesty and faithfulness is also an emotional decision with a lot of economic consequences also. The point I was making relates to congresspersons being honest, trustworthy and faithful to carry out their duties. If they don't have these qualities why would I want to vote for them. Post @Bill2E

May 8 Bob72370 They are willing to take a bullet??? What are you talking about? They will take the money from you, they will take your freedoms from you, they will take your jobs, your guns and yes they will take your bullets from you. But take a bullet for you? I don't think so... Post @Bob72370
May 6 hwyangel v No, they shouldn't Being that marriage is a federally governed institution it obviously requires rules. But with the new definition of marriage as "two consenting adults" fidelity is not one of them. I do believe though that the number of times that one can marry should be limited to avoid people taking advantage of marriage to help numerous people gain citizenship. I see this as a threat to national security. Post

Nov '12 Rapn21 v No, they shouldn't Their private life is nobody's business. Officials should be judged on how well or poorly they do their job. If the affair doesn't affect their job, they shouldn't reseign r3 replies e49 endorsed Post
Nov '12 BerryGoround v No, they shouldn't It depends on how much that affair affected carrying out their actual job duties, but assuming it didn't in any major way - absolutely not. The moral character of our government officials is certainly important, but if people resigned over their extra-marital affairs I'm afraid we'd be practically out of a government. e11 endorsed Post
Nov '12 Quantummist v Yes, they should While it may seem a private matter truth is the United States has enemies and such affairs can lead to blackmail and treason, It has happened in our history... Such affairs could lead to a government official being used by a covert operative to gain access to secrets and information that could be passed along to others that could use it for assorted attacks on our installations... A off the cuff comment to a mistress has led to the loss of American Lives and lose of top secret information in the past... So Yes such affairs by Government Officials should be considered a National Security issue.... B1 r20 replies e9 endorsed Post

Nov '12 TheLoneRanger v Yes, they should Yes they should resign...... Our leaders should be held to a higher standard then the general population. This is because people should be looking to our leaders on how to act in public as well as in private..... When our leaders do wrong and are not held accountable for their actions impressionable people notice and may conform their behavior to these new lows. They do this because they want to feel some kind of connection with their leaders and they begin to believe that somehow this deviant behavior is acceptable...and unfortunately in some circles it becomes so..... Look at the bad example of Bill Clinton and what he did to cause the moral deviancy of many of ou... r1 reply e2 endorsed Post
