When the upper 3% has their tax rates reduced they are able to invest the savings into creating their own businesses which creates new jobs for everyone, and will ultimately save money for the government since there won't be as many welfare recipients

When I still was healthy enough to work I paid my social security taxes. However, when in my 40's my health issue started. So now that all I have to "get by" on is my social security disability income ...also, the county I live in has decided that $108.00/mo is enough food stamps to buy food for 1. Last year I received $190.00/mo. So, I pay my own rent, buy my own gas(the only time I go any place it's to my doctors), and this past winter my energy bill was over $300.00/mo because the house I live in is old...when I asked for help the county representative replied .."the we ain't got any more money ..that ran out last summer "...she was such a well educated person ..NOT...

The rich already pay 90% OF THE TAXES NATIONWIDE. I am sorry, but no one should be complaining when the rich are paying 9/10 of the taxes. At some point, the rich are going to not going to have anything else to give (if we keep following down this road...)

I just don't see why people can't just pay the percentage of what they make. It fair for everyone I think. Like a poor person and a rich person would feel the same effect of the tax if you guys understand.

I feel that the RNC should compromise as they've been saying all along that they want to approach this in a "fair and balanced" way while they've studiously maintained a position on the (immoral) high ground as they already enjoy the lowest taxation rate and are arguing only for even more concessions, so it'd be nice if we were to FIRST 'balance' the tax obligation so that we could THEN proceed with negotiations with an equal amount of skin in the game to make it 'fair'.

Define "rich". Someone who considers themselves as poor might see someone who makes $50,000 as rich as someone who makes $500,000 or $5,000,000. Where does it start and where does it end? Compromise has to come from both sides. Democrats have already shown compromise, being willing to close tax loopholes and look for more spending cuts. Republicans have to show the same. BTW, it's not a "tax increase" by letting the Bush tax cuts expire, it's going back to Clinton-Era tax rates. Both sides have to compromise, so yes Republicans would have to be willing to let the Democrats have tax increases on the rich.

Any extra revenue the government receives by taxing the rich will be spent in a minute! None of the revenue will be used to reduce the debt. Compromise? We've already compromised our way to $16 Trillion on balance sheet debt. When do we stop compromising? $20 Trillion $25 Trillion At what point do we say this is the limit? They should let the "TAX CUTS" expire. When companies trim down their personnel department, cut their full time labor and replace them with temporary workers in order to avoid providing benefits, they are in essence, redistributing the wealth. Their salaries have skyrocketed while the average laborer's wages have been decimated. The tax cuts have not proven to stimulate the economy as they were originally intended, therefore they should be discontinued. A similar incentive could replace it. A tax break for those corporations that hire full time employees at a livable wage, provide benefits and keep their workforce limited to within the boundaries of the United States ...
