@MBernard Professional politicians offer no solutions to the problems they have created. This stanch partisan support for the professional politician ( Dems and Reps alike) is futile and only proves that we, as a people, are a bunch of ignorant suckers.

To solve any problem, one must first identify the problem. Wipe away the smoke and mirrors, and you will find that the problem is...The professional politician.

Have the Secretary of State---Personally and Formally deliver his response to the respective Secretary's of State of each of those states...And his response should be a Clear and Unambiguous ...."REQUEST DENIED"...With NO further comment or explanation, Period!
  • !
@fact-check - A lot of folks on the Right think she is Slick Willy in Drag. When you think about it, I don't remember seeing them together on any stage in a long time. Hmm
  • !
@fact-check Well no wonder you guys keep losing...The story refers to Pres. Obama. He happens to be a "he"...And it is "his" message that the secretary of state will be delivering. Good grief..now you guys need to have people translate english to you. Wow!

Don't dignify these idiots with an answer better yet cut state funding for those wishing to secede. It's always sour grapes from the right when they lose. They won't put their partisan feelings aside to better the nation. Like trump wanting to march on Washington, the election was fair you lost getnover it. Hey Donald would election still been a scam if Romney won?
  • !
@SFstyle ignoring the state? No ignoring a few thousand idiots that can't take it they lost an election. Don't like the result then you should have either got the vote out or picked a better candidate.
  • !
@SFstyle It is NOT the "States." It's disgruntled extremists signing a web petition. It takes a lot of exaggeration to blow that up into really representing even one state, let alone many.
  • !
@joyshusband do a few thousand citizens comprise a entire state? Obviously people in each state voted for both candidates. Umm not sure if you know

Ok let me get this straight. Because these states do not feel they gave the consent of the governed to have Obama win the election, they should secede from the country and raise their own armies and take care of their own interstate highways etc. So in all the elections in the past, any state that did not see their candidate win should have just gone and seceded. I think these petitions are formal permissions to feel sorry for themselves because their boy couldn't run a campaign worth a damn. Permission granted.

You know I have long thought we should offer anyone who wants to a full and unconditional buyout of their assets plus moving expenses to vacate Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas and the Carolina's and let the bible belt thumpers have them and they could be their own country. But we need to fence it off, no border jumpers. They'd starve to death in 20 years. .
  • !
@jessejaymes most are debtor states feed at the federal trough like piglets. after all the federal facilities are shut down unemployment will be in the 20+% range
  • !
Suppose we let TX secede. That's 38 less GOP electoral votes. It would be close to impossible for the GOP to win a national race any time in the near future. The dems would have a gimme on the Presidency. In less than 20 years the Latino population would be large enough to want back in with a dem majority and were back where we started. I'm having a hard time in seeing why we don't let them go.

Could point out there is no Escape Clause in the Constitution, or that the last time states tried to secede it didn't turn out so well for them.

On the upside, JetBlue will still help the disgruntled leave the country at a discount.:-)
  • !
Yes...they are always telling others to leave...If these disgruntled sore losers want to stamp their feet and whine because their flip-flopper lost...Then they can "Secede Right Out of This Country"...Good bye & good riddance.
  • !
    @fact-check Uh, no.

"When all attempts to arrive at a formal annexation treaty failed, the United States Congress passed—after much debate and only a simple majority—a Joint Resolution for Annexing Texas to the United States. Under these terms, Texas would keep both its public lands and its public debt, it would have the power to divide into four additional states "of convenient size" in the future if it so desired, and it would deliver all military, postal, and customs facilities and authority to the United States government.(Neither this joint resolution or the ordinance passed by the Republic of Texas ' Annexation Convention gave Texas the right to secede.)" http://goo.gl/0fB4t

What is there to secede? That's reflects the stupidity of a few,. We elected our president and end of story, is very sad how some extremists are still flapping like a fish outside the water,

"...It is the manifest determination of the American people that no State, of its own will, has a right or power to go out of or separate itself from, or be separated from the American Union; and that, therefore, each State ought to remain and constitute an integral part of the United States..."

    End if story!
  • !
You know...I went looking for Gov. Quomo's signature on the New York petition...And discovered just what you said...A few disgruntled losers signed such petitions...not "the states"...That's the kind of headlines I have grown accustomed to on politix, though.
  • !
Hey, no one person can stop another person from hating...So don't blame Obama because of the extreme level of irrational behavior on the right.
  • !
for once have an original thought, just because someone does not think like you probabably has more to do with common sense than hatred or racism

You mean the ass that is preventing me form getting the funding for my first mamagram because of his constant attacks on Planned Parenthood, unless dick for sword Perry wants to pay for my mamagram he needs to retire like five years ago!
    ---
and NO he can not watch.
  • !
@ACTSmom Hmm lets see ah yes here it is the part where it covers affordable cancer screening... says I can use volunteer hours as credit! this was discontinued in light of all the attacks on Planed parenthood since they can no longer support it when politicians attack them.
    ---
I'm just chocked as hell RICK actually did something right, he said Texas is not leaving the union.
  • !
@Zubo_I ...cancer screening as in PAP smear, not mammograms. They only give referrals for mammograms, just like regular doctor's offices do. It wasn't changed because of any political statement.
  • !
@ACTSmom Mamagrams are covered as a preventive, all I have to do is get their list and sign up as a volunteer for the required hours. I don't have the money I have the time thou, planed parenthood mealy makes it to where my time can be used to get me things I need.
    ---
Just like mehop if you can't afford it they have ways all you have to do is ASK about your options.

The bottom line is this. Every single state in the Bible belt with the exception of Texas is a parasite state. Meaning they get back more federal money than they pay in. This nation would actually be financially better off without the former Confederate states. I say let them go this time. We'd have tons more money.
  • !
@kirbstomp1 Yeah but you're not a right wing extremist bible thumper. We'll give you fair market value and moving expenses to relocate to the New United States and let the Bible Belt thumpers Confederacy have their own country.
  • !
@jessejaymes - lol as long as you can find me a good place, where I can learn, and try to better this country, I'll gtfo of here. To many Bible humpers in this area.
  • !
@kirbstomp1 Psst don't tell any extremist on the right or left but we're starting a moderate revolt. No religion in govt, no one race causes (La Raza, White Supremacy, Black Muslims, none of that stuff). We're gong to create a country where everyone is equal to their own effort and abilities. No women's groups, no gay agenda, it is only a people agenda. Did I mention that you have the right to worship as you please in your own home and house of worship but you start that stuff up outside of those two places and you are immediately deported to the Confederacy.
  • !
@jessejaymes - sounds like a place I would like. I don't want to impede on anyone, and def don't want anyone impeding on me.

Yup, even here in Florida there seems to be a movement by disgruntled Romney supporters to hang the U.S. Flag upside down to voice their disapproval over the results of the election.
I think it's deplorable and an insult to the many that served this country to use the flag for political posturing at anytime.....but especially on Veterans Day.
Romney and what's left of the Republican Party need to put their big boy pants on and condemn this behavior.
We the people have spoken....get over it!!
  • !
I have never seen a group disrespect the US flag like the Tea Party folks. Ironically most if not all are for a flag burning amendment.
  • !
@LetsAllBeHappy - Romney2012 has an avatar the flag being flown upside down. It is only to be flown as a sign of physical distress not as a political statement. During many of the Tea Party hoe downs that swept across the nation, many attendees were wearing Flag shirts, flag pants, flag hats. Again, proper flag etiquette insists that the flag never be used as part of clothing, advertisements, or for almost anything other than just as a flag. As a matter of fact the purist frown on those damn flag lapel pins. That said, I feel it is every American's right to disrespect the flag however they want. The flag is but a symbol. What is important is what it represents, not the flag itself. The only flag I own I keep safe still folded after the soldiers handed it to my mother when my father was interred at Arlington.

Many of these states went to Obama in the election. So if the citizens of each state voted for or against seccesion I think most would vote no by popular vote in each state. I don't see how the state can secede without the consent of the majority of the voting citizens.
  • !
Texas is a state by treaty. Every time the Texas legislature comes into session it has the option of severing itself from the United States of America, as it was an independent nation prior to joining the union.
  • !
Louisiana was once an independent Nation as well. I think it lasted only a week but it still happened. That is right Louisiana was not part of the Louisiana purchase. They broke free from French control to become independent then soon joined the United States. But that may not now since it later joined the confederacy.
  • !
@crusader: Unfortunately, Louisiana was established as a "Territory" by the U.S. government in 1803. The State of Louisiana was formally recognized by the U.S. government on April 30, 1812. Any claim as an independent nation was forfeited due to prior acceptance of legal status as the Territory of Louisiana.

@Sonny and any other Barry-Ball-Swingers out there...
    The election was NOT fair.
The spanish vote counting company SCTYL counted the votes in 26 states, all military votes and all over seas votes.
SCTYL was bought by George Soros.
The Billionaire George Soros backed Obama's 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns.
There was also ZERO/0 oversight of the election/voting process.

I am NO Bush fan (he belongs in Fort Leavenworth Military Prison for life) but I remember when every liberal, democrat and progressive beat the war drums against Bush when the 2000 elections were rigged.
I guess the libs/dems/progessies forgot all about that.(your avg. Democrat: Hey you can't cheat... only we can.)
    -
What's up with this Mary Noble chick doing an article about Soros, SCTYL, Obama and the election?
Should I hold my breath waiting? HaHaHa

As for these 20 states... I think we should all just bum-rush D.C. with guns-a-blazin' and reinstate the US Constitution in this Constitutional Republic.
  • !
Hrm... Lets go for the humorous approach. Send a letter with the message "Permission Granted" Then the day after the succession is completed, carpet bomb the entire state for 40 days and 40 nights all biblical style. Then take a break, send another letter saying, Hey, We see the worlds 15th largest economy isnt looking so good right now. We would offer to "give you your room back" but we already gave your Star to Puerto Rico. How about this... We will take you in as a protectorate while you put your country back together, and reevaluate letting you back in in say another 50 years or so, That work for ya?
  • !
@hwyangel Satanist, why do you ask?

LOL, no, seriously. My faith is the one that the good lord and I worked out betwixt ourselves.
  • !
    @hwyangel /facepalm

    Terrorists? WHAR?
Its not terrorism... its patriotism. Your killing enemy combatants trying to destroy the American way of life.

Is it still terroristic... if it was done in "the humorous approach?"

But assuming a reference to a bomb denotes not only terrorism, but connotation toward Islam is pretty secularist, and dripping with religious bigotry.

Or perhaps you might want to lighten up, to something that was not only prefaced as, but was clearly made to be a joke.

So perhaps you might want to swing by ebay and pick up a sense of humor.

how do you think the White House respond ? they will say the Constitution is an ancient , outdated document written by Christians zealots who were homophobic , Islamophobic mean spirited Republicans who are waging a war on women and want to take us all back to the days of Jim Crow, and put y' all back in Chains... and if that don't work they'll say they're all 1 percenters who don't want to pay their fair share....

.... seriously though if the White House responds to it at all, they will simply say they're a bunch of redneck racists, clinging to their God, their guns and there antiquated constitution and we can't tolerate that kind of politically incorrect hate speech in the new welfare States of America.
  • !
Or maybe do some research and learn a state cannot secede unilaterally. Also if a state wants to secede they need permission from the federal government, with the exception of Texas due to being a state by treaty.
  • !
@kirbstomp1: That is assuming that the 1871 incorporation of the United States does not nullify the right of a people to reject their corporate personhood and adopt a NEW, more representative form of governance... as established in the Declaration of Independence. Personally, I see a another revolution coming. December 21, 2012?
  • !
@fact-check The DOI is not a ruling document, nor was it ever meant to be. As for TX, it's former status is irrelevant. A state is either a part of the country or iit is a possession. It cannot have a special status; nowhere does the constitution allow for it.

I was shocked to see that new york and new jersey were on that list. None of the state have the needed 25,000 votes to actually be taken seriously and get a required response, but some are close.
Yea this looks like unifying a nation to me, awesome job Obama (you hack). With all these states wanting to run away from King Obama, would someone please recount the votes.
I think its a good idea (to secede), let those states that want to follow King Obama do so, let those that believe being all equal - even if it will equal out at poor, is great. Lets go our separate ways, perfect.
The SEC Conf. Goes with us. And so will the big money.
  • !
It is not "the states" who want to "run away." It's some crackpot extremists within the states who signed a web petition. Photos of cute kittens on Facebook get more positive responses faster.
  • !
Man Iam no SEC fan but Iam with ya. Will ya let us conservative Buckeyes move down south? I guess I can become a SEC fan. I live in southeren Ohio and believe me if not for Cincy Obama wouldn't have got a vote. I hate the northeren part of Ohio anyway. Ohio don't claim us . They think we are just a bunch of redneck hillbillies.
  • !
@Buckfan4life2 well if things keep goin the way they are, redneck hillbillies will be worth their weight in gold. Come on down
  • !
@Buckfan4life2 hell yea come on and bring those Buckeyes, thats a quality program we hate to play but we like their swagger.
