No offense Mongo, but you are a perfect example of the typical prima donna holding the G.O.P. back. Many Republicans feel that Romney lost because he is NOT conservative enough. I submit that if he was even MORE conservative, he would have lost by a much greater margin. Bobby Jindal is one of many rising stars in the Republican party. But until the festering, regressive limb of the G.O.P. rots away, you can count on losing national elections. The only reasonable chance the Republicans had to take back the White House was my man Jon Huntsman, but he was soundly rejected for being too "moderate." Or for "putting his Country before his party."
Nothing gets done, America stagnates because BOTH parties play TOO MUCH partisanship games.

can it be possible that people in the republican party are stupid enough to mouth the class warfare rhetoric on behalf of the democrat party?there are just as many rich people in the Dem party as the Republican party, and they contribute much less to charitable causes .this guy is obviously a liberal plant.
  • !
If you consider contributing to your church's roof a 'charitable cause' then you're correct, if you don't consider giving to your church as 'charity' (which I don't, because it's not) then the democrats give FAR more than conservatives.

Dont bother. cant you see no one at politix isnt interested in real news anymore than the MSM is. Sex scandal sure. Who plays the national anthem or not fine. Dem and Rep bashing fine. But serious threats to our national defense? Who cares? WE got the President we as a country deserve. Let it play out and take precautions to keep you and yours as safe as possible. Dont count on the govt to come to the rescue.

this was covered in an earlier thread. Iran has plans to use EMP strikes on the US if *provoked*. They have already been documented deploying their ship in maneuvers consistent with an east coast EMP stike. It would cripple us. You can google EMP and Iran. There are some crazy sites but some interesting stuff, too. starting to make that tyv show Revolution look eerily familiar. Enjoy.
  • !
@ir0nw0lfe doubt they have significant EMP capability.
I think a strike is imminent
Drone shot at in intl airspace - we didn't say where is was before shooting. Iranian plane won't dare go near 24 hr air cover carriers havein place. how do you miss buying a drone cruising at 135k you're out of range
Netanyahu bet on wrong horse election in Jan dead man walking accord to IsrEli news.
He's given recent interviews strike is imminent
We have moved 2,carrier groups special forces etc into gulf of Hormuz
Today's Iran threat pretty drastically even for them. They have soviet shipboard missiles capable of hitting from 12 mile limit.
Iran has made several cyber attacks against us over the last month.
  • !
@martydotcom You did read that the Iranian Republican Guard planes have been provoking fights with our fighters right? I dont know when a strike will occur. but i do think they have planned to execute one if they see a need or an opening.

Like the STP belt? coincides with the Bible belt? you know, the big slash of red across the electoral map? Yup, i think you've nailed it there...

Losing 5 out of the last 6 national popular votes, failure to defeat probably the most vulnerable incumbent ever. Losing sure win HR & Senate seats. How's that working out for your getting your political philosophy implemented?? No chance needed?
  • !
@martydotcom - You assume these things happen because we're not moderate enough. Scott Brown was quite moderate. A liberal even. How come he got his clock cleaned by the socialist Elizabeth Warren? The better liberal won, that's how. Look, if you go to a grocery store and there are two boxes of cereal and both of them are basically the same thing then the cheaper or better tasting cereal will win. How about offering someone something other than the exact same product with a different name on it. People like Jindal must leave the party because they are nothing but liberals with a "R" at the end of their title.
  • !
@Neo_NtheMatrix I believe Scott Brown lost because she came across as the better candidate. He was leading in all of the polls until their debates. Immediately after their first debate the poll numbers turned around. He was so poorly perceived. he canceled their final debate. Now look at Allen West, redistricting placed him with a GOP registration plurality. He lost in spite of facing a no body, and running the most costly Rep race on record. He came across as such a looney running stupid untrue attack adv. he was rejected as too extreme. He ran adv claiming his opponent had voted for Obamacare, food stamps (?) etc. The guy never held elected office never voted on anything
Change is not going to occur by going to the most extreme positions. Change be it lib or conserv. is a process of influencing more voters to accepting your views. Running and isolating the party to the extremes guaranties more of the same
  • !
@Neo_NtheMatrix I've asked you this one before and you failed to answer this. By using your logic of the GOP being too liberal, how do you explain the loses of Akin and Mourdock in fairly conservative states? Do you really believe this, or just a massive troll, as I am beginning to suspect.
  • !
That's right. Get rid off all the sane viable candidates for president like Jindal and Christie. If Fox leads the way the White House might as well put up blue shutters.

Oh, you mean like how we were the richest nation on the planet per capita in 1950? I don't know about you, but I like that a lot. Right now obviously the economic crisis is more important then any social issue.
  • !
@Politicskid Hmm, even though I was born in the 50's, I don't remember being that rich. Both parents worked and unlike most in my neighborhood, we had two cars. But, rich.....nope. No fancy computers, ONE TV only, no cruise vacations, cable/satellite (what the heck is that), IPhone, cell phone, only on phone in house....etc. And that was So. Calif.====it is the economics and JOBS. Too bad Romney and gang didn't stick to that only. How many republican voters they (the repubs) got with it's Gods will if you get raped and pregnant....stupid!
  • !
@stepped_in_it Okay, why do you seem to think that the GOP is made up mostly of Amish people? Look at all the Republicans on this ONLINE debate website.

How intellectual does one need to be in order to pander to certain groups, rather than represent the entire citizenry of the USA? Does abortion on demand make one more cerebral? Does free birth control make one more cerebral? Does believing in Obama's stash and Obamaphones and free stuff make one more cerebral? Does gay marriage make one more cerebral? Does a lack of religion make one more cerebral? Does scaring old people off a cliff make one more cerebral? Does a Trillion $ a year deficit and mounting debt make one more cerebral?

Bobby J, if the above is intellectual, we're in for a helluva ride.
  • !
No it doesnt .. But Democrats agenda being back by the country's greatest intellects as compared to the GOP being backed by this country's rich does say a lil something about the demographics each party is reaching..and about the type of people who support them..
  • !
@Souljah ...Then that doesn't say much for the intellectuals if they promote those things I mentioned. The intellectuals will have us copycatting Greece and the old Roman empire in a few more years. Crash and burn.
  • !
Yes, if they are to survive, it is time to remove the "happy meal neo con's" from the party, they also need to sever ties with both Fox news, and Rush Limbaugh.

Which party is perceived as mean spirited toward unemployed, disabled on welfare, elderly etc while indulging excesses of business.

    Where does Jindal start
  • !
The only thing the Republicans need is to truly take up the banner of individual liberty and limited Constitutional gov't, and an honest, non-cronified, free market. At the same time, that would make them the party of ideas and intelligence. I'll not hold my breath for that to happen. I agree Jindal does sound subtextually like a "progressive."

I think Jindal is saying we need to do a better job of explaining why we believe what we believe. I think he is warning the GOP establishment in Washington that they need to listen to flyover country. He is suggesting candidates think before they speak, especially about hot button issues. Elizabeth Warren won an election in spite of her lies and practicing law without a license because her character faults do not relate to the abortion issue. Jindal is not calling for the GOP to cave into the leftists on the issues. He is saying we must do a much better job of educating the voters about how they can benefit from voting for conservatives. Dennis Prager called for the same educational effort in his column this morning.

But how? These are the same people that think Obamacare will "save" money. Results from conservative values are not immediately seen (nor are the damages from liberal policies). One illustration is the poverty centered around urban democratic strongholds. How do I tell someone that if they don't like the way things are then you should change them? More personally, how do I tell the people escaping from the cities into my neighborhood, that the reason you like our area/schools/crime rates/etc better is because of our conservative values. I don't think Jindal is right on this one.
  • !
I think he's saying the Republican position on evolution, birth control, and climate change have flown in the face of established science making the Republicans appear to be the party of dumb.
  • !
@Zazziness The "science" of birth control? Just what is the "official Republican position" on evolution and 'climate change'? I suggest there is no "Official position", but a wide variety of opinions.
  • !
@Realthinker Gosh, that's real funny, Realthinker. Since every time I've seen climate change come up on a public discussion board, the Loud Republicans are there en masse to tell one and all about how it's all a hoax. Birth control? Women can will themselves to abort if pregnancy is the result of "legitimate rape," don't you know? Evolution? Like climate change, just a conspiracy cooked up by those wicked, not-to-be-trusted scientists. This has been so conspicuously the stance of the fanatical right and so little disputed by their political leaders, it is incredibly disengenuous of you to pretend it's the first you're hearing about it.

Absolutely. The Republican Party has been hijacked by emotional ideologues with absolutely no interest in bipartisanship.
  • !
I'm utterly shocked that conservatives that once hailed Jindal as the savior to get the minority vote is now a 'closet liberal', a 'RINO', and 'progressive'. No wonder the GOP is losing people in droves, disagree w/ anything on the platform and you're no longer a member. Yeah, that's the way to win elections...
  • !
The Republican Party wooed the fringe fanatics for political reasons and now they find it's not as easy to control them as they thought. So this always happens when a Republican is anything but a frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic -- the constituents hurry to reject him or her in favor of someone as crazy as they are.
