u May 13 KyleMFb v Yes There is a simple way to solve our republican manufactured debt problem. We need to raise taxes and cut spending and that's what the democrats have proposed time and time again, but the republicans don't wanna play ball. They somehow think spending more and cutting taxes will help the country pay down its debt... I don't where they went to school but where I went to school they taught us how to do simple math. So I can easily figure out that spreading and spending (tax cuts) some more will not pay off any debt just add too it. Post
u May 12 tomaz13 v No The only reason Democrats want to raise taxes is to compensate for ALL of the DEBT that this administration is adding to our debt. I think Obama has been trying to internally cripple or destroy our economy sines he was elected to congress. That is his main objective and the stupidity of Democratic voters is just propelling it along. Post
May 12 Bill2E v No We have a bloated government and it just keeps growing and growing and growing. Lets get back to smaller budgets and less tax. The nation would be much better off. We have built our Defense Department to the point it is wasteful. Post
May 11 mwr v No GOP aready allowed /agreed tohte tax increases of January 2013, the DEMS need to show cuts to make the actions even and show a second set of cuts to ask for more taxes. Post
May 11 JesusLivesInMe v No Talk about making a deal with the devil. Why on earth would anyone with half a brain make such a stupid deal FOR something ya know you're NEVER gonna get? Post
May 8 busseja v No why raise taxes. and democrats never offer real cuts while the increased taxes are real. Post
u May 7 DrNickels v No Obama already got his tax increase in January. He was supposed to give some spending cuts in return. Guess who didn't hold up their end of the agreement? Post

May 5 NoAmnestyEVER v No We take in enough taxes to run this country three times over. Liberals just throw it away on useless entitlements and pay raises for themselves. If Dems want more tax revenue let them tax the ones who CAUSED this economic crisis, ILLEGAL ALIENS. Post
May 5 harold_lloyd v Yes Any successful plan to bring the budget under control and begin to reduce the debt will involve spending cuts a lot of people won't like, and tax increases that a lot of people won't like. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying to you. Would you rather believe the lies, or face the truth? Magic, or reality? Post
May 4 jeffreyknee v No How to downsize Washington without harming one citizen. Keep in mind medical industry subsidies are 300x oil industry subsidies ($1.2 trillion vs. $4 billion): 1). Scrap all poverty-based entitlements, and cut taxes 50%; 2). Put the judicial branch and IRS in charge of mitigating neediness using family courts, penalty fines and surtaxes on the relatives (not the public); 3). Abolish Medicaid, state lotteries and Indian casinos -- then renew funding for higher education and cut tuitions 75% (see 7 below for more); 4). Keep Social Security for retirement only (scrap disability and widowhood perks, see above); 5). Reform health insurance and abolish employer pools-- ... r3 replies Post
May 5 harold_lloyd Sounds kind of totalitarian, and how do you plan to do all of this? Post @harold_lloyd
May 5 jeffreyknee @harold_lloyd, it merely uses the judicial branch more and the two bankrupt political branches less. Except the IRS would enforce family court decisions across state lines. Family and relatives helping one another is nothing new or "totalitarian." It's how human evolution progressed. Humans only started devolving when Orwellian "progressive" policies were commonplace, since the '60s. It gets worse and worse because the dysfunctional families multiply with welfare while gov't simultaneously punishes good families who network and follow common decency, age old proven values. Post @jeffreyknee
May 5 harold_lloyd @jeffreyknee All of that probably makes you feel good, but there is nothing there that could actually be carried out. If you want to be my hero, come up with a plan that doesn't destroy the economy, doesn't hurt the weakest among us, and is sustainable. And could get through congress..... Post @harold_lloyd
u Apr 29 BossTweed v No Repubs already raised taxes. The Left is sooooo GREEDY. Pay UP Suckers is the new motto of the Progressocrats. Post
Apr 26 ZombieMedic v No In retrospect, since the Democrats lied about wanting spending cuts, and have crybabied over the sequester, which was only a reduction in spending and not even a cut, then no, no more tax raises. The government is wasting too much money. It needs to reduce its size over 60% first, then there will be a large surplus of income and taxes could be cut for everyone. Post
u Apr '13 IMAQT v Yes We had the tax increases on January 1 for virtually everyone. SO where are the cuts? Post
Feb '13 jmiller94 v No They should lower the tax percentage until enough people are working to level it out, and the first spending cut should be NO salary for elected officials until they figure out what they did wrong. Post
u Nov '12 standout v Yes republicans are only looking out for the wealthy.obama only wants to raise taxes on the top 2%.yes they should pay more.i pay a higher % of taxes than mitt romney. r5 replies e16 endorsed Post
Nov '12 Neo_NtheMatrix v No As far as I'm concerned, there is no reason that taxes should ever go up again. In fact, they should go down, waaaaaaay down. I long for Constitutional sized government. One that does not take on the role of a nanny, but as a small sized government designed only to provide for the defense of the nation and for the infrastructure of the country. Nothing else. Cut spending and cut taxes. After that has been done, do it again! r3 replies e14 endorsed Post
Nov '12 jessejaymes v Yes This is a no brainer. More than 60% of exit polled voters want the rich to pay their fair share. It's political suicide for the GOP to stonewall this yet again. B2 r24 replies e9 endorsed Post
u Nov '12 seedtick v Yes But....it depends upon the spending cuts that are agreed to. They can't stop funding snowshoe purchases in Hawaii and call it a spending cut. It has to be a real spending cut. B1 e7 endorsed Post
u Nov '12 tressa4 v No Where the Dems need to start spending cuts is within themselves. Gov't has gotten too big. Time to trim the excess fat. B1 e5 endorsed Post
u Nov '12 Hireman v No The problem is not revenue, it's SPENDING. But before we get too far, the GOP has had a massive fail in realizing that the military is a part of the government and needs to be looked at for cuts as well. They seem to gloss right over this. Our military can definitely become more efficient and downsized without losing any required power. We can't just look to entitlements and other programs without honestly looking at the military as part. Once these cuts have been made, and we can prove that the government is efficient, then yes, taxes should go on the table (IF needed). B3 r4 replies e1 endorsed Post
Nov '12 LGRepublican v No Absolutely not! Funny thing about "agreements" like this, the tax increases always happen right away while the spending cuts are always "down the road". As Reagan found out, "down the road" means NEVER. e4 endorsed Post
u Nov '12 classychazy v Yes As long as the cuts are substantial and the tax loopholes are closed. We need to work together for the betterment of this nation. Its time to stop all the bullshit and start making some real changes! e3 endorsed Post
u Nov '12 S-N-A-F-U v No Talk about Stupid! Cutting the dept. and spending money we don't have should never be contingent on something else.. This president has amased 5 TRILLION dollars on his watch -- and its increasing @ 4 BILLION dollars a day.... B1 e1 endorsed Post
