@Elliotsreport Did they ever name that garbage plant after GW Bush out there? I know it was on the ballot a few years ago and I think it won.
  • !
    @PNWest
You know, I remember the vote, but don't know what happeded. Seems insulting, I mean the garbage has already been used and discarded, why insult the garbage any further?
  • !
@jamie91 i really don't know. I mean just because someone says something does not mean it is the opinion of Fox.
  • !
the thing is that i have serious doubts that he was even expressing his view. he was making a joke, not making a political statement.

@MRMacrum Hey, you're the one whining about Fox News Channel, not me.:-)

Also for Tuesday,#1 for total day...with more than twice the audience of the #2 outlet. Also #1 in primetime, again doubling the #2.

As mentioned elsewhere, Bob is a democrat. I disagree with practically everything he says, be he's a great personality and was a wicked sense of humor.

More liberals should try humor. Seriously.

This is a double face palm with a "smh." I think that the only reason I watch any news just to see who says the most idiotic thing on live TV. Thought be Chris Matthews "glad the hurricane happened " remark but nope this one takes the cake.
  • !
Well, Bob Beckel is the lone liberal on "The Five." What do you expect from him, he would be right at home on a sixth grade play ground where little boys stand around, frog each other on the arm and poot.
  • !
This is mild for Bob. He's a Liberal Democrat who ran Walter Mondale's Presidential campaign and lost 49 states. His mouth has gotten him in trouble before and he has this huge jar full of money that he has to add to when he swears on the air. But when it comes to politics, he's brilliant. He knows far more about Presidential campaigns than anybody on this forum. Ealier this week when Hostess shut down, another host made a smoothie out of 4 Twinkies and a little milk. Bob drank the entire thing and later left the set to throw up. Although I am a Conservative, Bob is the one Liberal I enjoy listening to and learning about politics from an expert. Not some nutcase like Rachel Madcow or Chris Matthews.

He's an idiot who should man-up and apologize; but the "commentators" on all the channels are full of themselves and never do, unless their producer makes them, even then its not sincere.
  • !
@dances-weebles Sure do if they come out lame, not being PC (depending on the audience), or come across the wrong way. Other than that they stand as said :).
  • !
ah, i see... sort of like making a comment on someone being a whore because they think that their insurance should cover birth control pills along with the other prescription meds, or like making a comment 'some girls rape easy.' oh i know... what about saying talking about 'legitimate rape' or maurdock and kostner saying that pregnancy from rape is something that 'god' intended. of course, since those comments were all made by 'conservatives' they don't count, right?

before you begin talking about 'liberals' and 'conservatives' you should really sort out the difference in your own mind... it's obvious that you really haven't any clue.
  • !
@dances-weebles and yet you prove exactly what I am talking about.

Try asking what my thoughts are, as opposed to jumping to conclusions.

    1. You reference to Rush Limbaugh. He was being satirical. And the Left put out a strawman with the whole War on Women BS and you know this to be true. Claiming otherwise shows ignorance. Even Planned Parenthood has come out and admitted it.

    2. The idiots who claim rape can be controlled by a woman's body or was meant to happen is the work of God are idiots.

Beckel has a tendency to be vile, gloating and rude. Like most of the outspoken Left. That includes jumping to emotionally driven conclusions, as you just did. Thanks for proving my point.
  • !
@RedFloppyShoes He always jumps to the left's most prominent talking point opinion. Your point was spot on, as we all have found out, when one lacks a coherent counter argument, the only thing left to do is attack, and the DNC has an entire list of approved counter attacks that all the progressives have memorized. Fox (Faux news) News is of course #1 on the list, attributing any thought or POV to Rush or Fox is #2 and so on. Hardly worth even taking the time to read. It's not like we haven't heard them about a zillion times, they now rank right up there with the waggle of fingers in the ears and the na na na na, so common of the Kindergarten set. Useless, predictable and childish. All they are is conversation stoppers, sorta like throwing the race card.

Yes his comments were/are offensive. And I really don't understand these people in our national media....Its like they have NO training at all, in objective journalism, or even in basic politeness...It seems that America has become a nation of very nasty, unsympathetic people, who don't even take half a second to consider the impact of their statements on society at large....Just a bunch of selfish people (like on here) who really don't give a Sh*t about anybody or anything else..
  • !
    Two thumbs up!
Sometimes people say things that don't come out right (guilty myself) and its simply a misunderstanding.
This guy, no way, he's just hateful and should retire.
  • !
I applaude FOX for having someone on the show to show the Liberal/Socialist view, however they need to can Bob. Bob is a fat tub of lard w/ a big mouth. He has put his fungile covered foot in his mouth one to many times. He is rude, crude, and social unexceptable.
  • !
Oh boy. If a Republican had made this remark every msm outlet in the country would be crucifying the poor guy. But let a Dem. make a stupid remark, and the network graciously allow it to just disappear, and the network is criticized for exercizing some compassion. Just proves the Republicans cannot win.
  • !
When a pair of liberal MSNBC hosts made far less offensive remarks they were fired. Fox has demonstrated considerably less integrity.
  • !
@DARSB I had no idea Schuster had been fired. My understanding of Olberman's departure is that his overall behavior towards everyong had become inexcusably hostile. I don't see Beckel's comment as hostile so much as it was stupid.
  • !
was it offensive? not really. and it's got absolutely nothing at all to do with 'liberal' or 'conservative' so please get off that horse. you don't know how to ride it.

the thing is that he was making a joke and it seems that people who watch faux have forgotten how to laugh... especially at themselves. the ironic thing is that people like billy crystal, robin williams, whoopie goldberg and billy connolly make much more offensive comments than this all the time and people spend millions of dollars listening to them doing so.
  • !
I agree to a point that people need to laugh more...but the people that listen to those comedians know what they are going for, and what they are getting into. If you are on a PC 24/7 type broadcast then that same language will raise some eyebrows. It's all about audience. Anyone can say anything depending on which anyones are around. good lesson to keep in mind

This is the sort of thing juveniles might say for shock value among their peers and not within earshot of disapproving adults. From time to time Beckel has demonstrated his "potty mouth" but this was over the top. I enjoy his perspective and his self deprecating sense of humor. I think he has probably been reprimanded and threatened with his job by superiors. I would label this as a slip of the lip and move on. Who among us has not put his foot in his mouth at some time.?
