While elected Republicans and Dems fight tooth and nail over the fiscal cliff, their respective campaign teams spent the weekend civilly exchanging ideas.
They met at the Harvard Institute of Politics Campaign Managers Conference, a four-yearly election postmortem attended by campaign strategists from both parties.
This year, it was perfectly clear who were the students and who the masters. "We got our butts kicked, so I'm going to school," the manager of one 2012 Republican presidential campaign told Buzzfeed.
Republicans packed the room when Obama's campaign team met to reveal their secrets. David Axelrod, Stephanie Cutter and the rest focused on technology, where Obama's team have a huge edge over Republicans. "We weren't even running in the same race," a crestfallen Romney aide told BuzzFeed after the session. "They were just amazing."
If you want to know more on the Obama team's secret formula, you'll have to wait: the proceedings are under embargo until the Institute releases transcripts.
