Please, politix.com, re-enable your low graphics voting page for those of us or only me that cannot use the new system. We've changed how we exchange gifts with my wife's family (everyone is assigned a person, rather than everyone buying for everyone) and you can't beat the sale prices this year. In short, I've shopped smarter, not harder.

When I was younger, I'd like to spend my money like there was a hole in my pocket. I wish then I took a moment and banked more of my money than throwing it away! Parents spend to much on their kids at Christmas time to the point of using Layaway and maxing out credit cards. My mother used to say, if you can't pay for Christmas by Dec.25 ,then you couldn't afford it!

I've spent less than last year. I figured I would prepare for the tax increases that are coming thanks to the fiscal cliff that is looming. And on a side note, all my shopping was done online, meaning I didn't have to deal with scores of idiots fighting over that one special toy that every kid wants Santa to drop down the chimney. I was also intelligent enough to pay off my credit card this month, meaning when everybody else has financial shock come January, I'll be able to relax knowing my bills are paid off.

The Christmas budget has been about the same for the last several years. For us, it's more of a quality over quantity thing so instead of looking for ways to spend more, we look for better ways to spend what we have.

@srs606791163 No...my taxes are going up, my healthcare costs are increasing, food costs are sky high, gasoline costs twice as much as it did when BHO took office, my utility bills are up, my grandchildren will be in debt for the money this liberal progressive is spending, and the world is a much more dangerous place than it was four years ago. Remember this, when this president spends money and pushes big environmental or social programs he must take the money from somewhere. That somewhere is yours and my pockets...and the future labors of our children and grandchildren.

Fascinating...an economy that the progressive liberals are trying to STILL sell the American people on that it is better {or at least not as bad as we think and they tell would have been} and yet more people are going to be spending less this year or the same? Not really a good indicator...then again...looking at it in a progressive liberal view...it could be worse...the world could end...oh darn...12/21/12...oh well...
