Glenn Beck and Vince Vaughn Plan New Reality Show

The competition series will see documentary film makers compete for funding and distribution

Actor Glenn Beck and Vince Vaughn are teaming up to launch a new reality TV show on TheBlaze TV called Pursuit of the Truth, in which selected documentary filmmakers from 'round the country compete for funding to see their vision leap to life.

Mediaite's Meenal Vamburkar informs us of the new venture, which will feature nine episodes of aspiring truth-tellers subjected to the scrutiny of "a panel of expert judges" that will deem their work worthy, or not, of more exposure. "I am proud to announce that Vince Vaughn and I are going to be the executive producers," said Beck Wednesday on his popular radio show. "That should make everybody's head spin."

For a taste of the subject matter that will be covered in POTT, Beck offers the Federal Reserve, an institution that is no stranger to documentarians of the more conservative persuasion. Indeed, Vaughn and Beck appear to be a perfect match on the issue. The Swingers star has been a prominent supporter of the Ron Paul campaign in the past, which has served as a veritable treasury trove of obsession over the workings of America's central bank.

Yes...once again, GB rips-off AJ...just not in a very clever way. Jones has been making documentaries of his own for more than a decade. I'm sure that there's a chance that Vaughn's motivation may be somewhat sincere, but he picked the wrong horse on this one. Beck is a JOKE.

@GetAwake I have hope that Vince Vaughn is more sincere with this project than his partner. Vince did say that End The Fed was a must read and supported Ron Paul whereas Glen Beck would have us believe that Mitt Obamney was going to save us all and that Ron Paul is a kook.

I'm not a fan of reality shows...but I would love, love, love to see documentaries that are truthful! Actually, I'd like to see a MSM news report that was truthful.

BTW...I like Glenn Beck and for the naysayers, his success should make you overwhelmingly envious....he's worth over $100 million and growing. And you said he was a loser when he left FOX!! Conservatives sure seem to be obsessed with envy. "You must be so envious of this, you must be so envious of that." I don't know where it comes from. I can't recall the last time I felt envy. Probably viewing a tropical home in Architectural Digest. Glenn Beck is a loon and a PT Barnum-style showman. If someone takes him seriously, I feel pity and when I think about the fact he's become wealthy preaching crazy to people who want to hear crazy, I feel despair for my species.
