Kentucky Senator Rand Paul didn't exactly roll out the red carpet for actress Ashley Judd when asked about her
potential challenge to his seat yesterday.
"I thought she was running for Parliament," said Rand in a radio interview with DC's
WMAL, making snarky reference to Judd's
home in Scotland. Saying the celebrity's politics were "way damn too liberal" for not only the state of Kentucky but for the country, Rand also questioned her common sense as it applies to her home state.
"She hates our biggest industry, which is coal," he said. "Good luck bringing the - 'I hate coal' message to Kentucky."
Judd has
spoken out against coal mining in Appalachia in the past, even going so far as to call it "environmental genocide." The words were enough to prompt one Kentucky judge to dub her a "an egotistical brat from California."
