Yes, most adult Americans know that Santa ain't real.
Having said that, more of them think he's a Democrat than a member of the GOP,
informs The Hill's Justin Sink. In a new survey admittedly carried out by a Democratic polling firm, 44% of those whose opinions were culled said that St. Nick would be a member of the blue team, while 28% said he'd throw in for the red team (the bipartisan view being that hey, at least they're both Christmas colors).
Oddly, considering the source, more folks polled believed that Romney was likelier to make the "Nice" list than President Obama. 63% vs. 51%, respectively. As Sink notes as well, nearly half of those polled believe that yes, there
is a war on Christmas intended to make the "holiday season" more secular in orientation. Then again, "four in 10 Americans say no such effort exists" to remove the religious overtones from the end-of-year festivities.
