It's the liberal way of decent when deisagreement occurs, is that how the union in MI. handled disagreement yesterday?

@LGRepublican it wasn't worth anything back in the seventy's ... but thinking back it was the only thing we could laugh about during the Carter Administration, his brother

I don't know, like father like son, both were butchers of bagdad. Don't know that the dad here beat his wife, but i hope the son gets jail time, andvthat another inmate smashes his head against the wall...

@PoliticalSpice you get a lot of this stuff ass backwards don't you?

Saddam Hussein was the butcher of Baghdad.. he served of 5 year old boy as a meal , to the boy's parents as a punishment then he killed them.

@bsking how do yiu know were you his guest at dinner? The two Bushes killed hundreds of thousands in those wars, tens of thousands of which were innocent men, woman and children. Now I know bigots like you think that is ok if the children are not american, but when one of those kids grows up burning with hate because we killed his parents and comes here and drives a car with explosives into a packed theater or something like that killing dozens or hundreds of innocent american civilians the blood of those people will be on the hands of the bushes, for starting this mess...

"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Mr. Moran doesn't appear to have done a terrific job of teaching his son about impulse or temper control.

His sons actions aren't his fault and shouldn't be a touchstone of his career, HOWEVER what he does with the situation is.

If Representative Moran uses his influence to lighten his son's punishment, YES he should have a problem....

Ballot Tampering on the other hand.....

Absolutely not. Every man is this responsible for his OWN actions. I rarely blame parents for the actions of their kids. I was a troubled teenager myself and it was absolutely not my mom's fault. There were other influences that caused me to behave the way I did.

No. How is it Moran's fault that his son is a screw-up. I do think the VA police shouldn't cut him a break and the DA shouldn't give any special treatment. But I think a lotta things that probably won't matter in this case.

The libs will just consider this freedom of expression since this involves a Democrat.
If a Republican/conservative had this happen, the "compassionate" libs would be screaming about boycotts and how the rich need to pay more in taxes so the government can fun domestic violence programs.
Other than that this will just be swept under the rug by the lib media and never heard of again.

Your nots, expression in this case would have to be directed at a repubs to get left sympathies. It is repubs that cut funds to battered womens shelters...

If the Congressman used his position to get the son's sentence reduced he should be held accountable for any following actions. If the son did not receive the standard sentence for his first offense and repeats the crime, his father's actions are part of the problem.

Seriously, these guys use their position to help their children and friends in many ways. It is part of their whole power trip.

No. We raise our children to the best of our ability, most of the time anyway, and then those adults make their own choices. Since we cannot possibly be privy to what Congressman Moran may or may not have tried to teach his son, I hold the son solely responsible for his own behavior.

I have to actually side with the Dem congressman this time. His kid is an adult and is responsible for himself. This is that whole "personal responsibility" I keep talking about! See how that works?

The real question I have, is does it matter who the person is that does this sort of thing?
Chris Brown destroys Rihanna's face and months later everyone forgets and his album sells like hot cakes. Is it going to be the same thing here, because he's a son if a Congressman?

the father did not commit the crime as a parent we do all we can to raise children to respect others and the law... the abuser has to pay the price for his disrepect of the law.. a woman beater needs to feel the pain

Not a chance. In a perfect world children would be the epitome of what their parents wish them to be. This is not a perfect world, sometimes kids turn out rotten to the core, but you can not hold the parents responsible for adult children (even ones that don't act like adults)

I'm the mom of four sons and I remember saying when they were real young..."My kid would never do that"! Fast
forward 10-15 years, and I can not believe what I had heard they had done! I was a stay at home mom, I went to
every meeting, game, was a room mother, Den mother, Kool-Aid mom. All the kids came to my house, my kids
had all the love, attention, and caring a mother could give, that said...when they hit their teens, I did not know them.
They are all successful now, and none of them have ever hit a woman ( that i know of ), but there's one who has
been a 'problem' child since I can remember...They were all raised the same, and w/ the exception of a bad divorce, had a great life. I do not think parents should be responsible for adult kids, I've seen the worst parents have the best kids and the 'best' parents have the worst kids.

@mimi57 in process of raising 4 kids now, any of my sons ever hits woman or older person, were gonna take a trip out behind the barn no matter how old he is, sort of like when my wifes cousin (32) thought it would be acceptable to get in a shove grampa (75) and then blacken his eye, my father-in-law (56) called him up and said "Since your dad refuses to handle this, I just wanted to call and tell you that I will be in town next week and you should be expecting an @$$ kicking, YOU DONT HIT WOMEN OR THE ELDERLY....EVER". Kids will grow up, become adults and make thier own choices good or bad, as parents all we can do is guide them as best we can. Agian, I dont blame whom the Congressman, but whether we like it our not our childrens actions reflect on us. Bin Ladens family may have been upstanding people, but his past actions will always cause that name to be associated with terrorism whether its justified or not.
