America is "unfortunately a violent society," says CT Governor Daniel Malloy. Reflecting on the amount of gun crime in the United States, Malloy, a Democrat, said on CNN's "State Of The Union," "This is a violent world. We are a particularly violent country within that world."
Malloy has been dealing non-stop with the aftermath of the Newtown, CT shootings that claimed 26 lives. Malloy is a gun control supporter. But he also expressed his belief that, "If someone wants to do an act like this, they are going to find a way to do it."
Speaking of the recent shootings in his state, Governor Malloy said that shooter Adam Lanza was "clearly" troubled and had to have been "deranged" to carry out this kind of crime. The CNN host, Candy Crowley asked about specific details of the case, including whether there was any evidence that Lanza was mentally disabled. Malloy responded that the acts he committed were evidence of that fact.
