Three electors in Arizona, including Republican state chair Tom Morrissey, have revived the question of whether Obama was born in the United States.

They voiced their doubts during the ceremony that affirmed AZ's electoral college votes - which were all cast for Mitt Romney.

"I'm not satisfied with what I've seen," Morrissey explained, referring to the birth certificates Obama has produced.

Governor Jan Brewer distanced herself from the move. She said the electors were "entitled to their own opinion," but added, "I happen to disagree."

    It isn't even strange, it's just embarrassing to have people who really ought to know better carrying of with this nonsense. They should come to grips with the fact that you can become president regardless of what color you were born. Have they no shame? Apparently not. Oh well, Brewer is term limited so she is on her way out.

    It doesn't really matter anymore whether obama was born in the U.S. or not. I happen to doubt he was, seeing as though he exhibits no American tendencies. That's a moot point though. The voters have spoken loud and clear and have said they want a socialist government to care for them from the cradle to the grave. If obama were to be impeached, the voters would just elect someone worse. We're so hosed either way it goes. So sad...

    @NormalFlora You know this whole thing is ridiculous. John McCain was born in Panama. He's an American citizen. It doesn't matter where Obama was born. He had an American mother so he's an American. It is really that simple.

    Oh come on, everyone knows he was smuggled in from kenya as a child by the communist, who planted false birth notices in the Hawaiian press 40 years ago, waited for him to grow up, knowing he would be elected president. What other rational explanation is there for him being president? Why do you think Palin tried to stop it? she saw them smuggling him from russia from her perch in Alaska...

    @PoliticalSpice Manchurian Candidate. The original 1960-something. Not certain of the exact year. The original is brilliant, the remake is disappointing, as is so often the case.

    if he wanted this to be put to rest instead of lagging and playing a game it could have been over when it started. when he spent to keep things hid it made it look very funny and seems to be why he did it. then his support for illegal aliens makes the issue keep coming back as well. his family members didn't help the issue either when those who back him stay untouched no matter the crime the one who goes against him is long gone.

    Which Native American tribe do your ancestors come from? I'm just curious. I bet you wish your Native American ancestors had the foresight to have a better immigration policy, huh? Instead, they welcomed the white people with open arms and then got slaughtered. Now the white people have the nerve to tell families who have lived on the same land in NM and AZ, etc. for 500 years to "go back to Mexico." Jeez. Must make your blood boil.

    @liberalsmurf blackfeet choctaw , my mom was born on the reservation,whats your point? the white part came over somewhere in the early 1600s. funny how some think they can tell a person history by a post,and you know if those pesky white folks would not of came here this country would not be like it is.

    yes it does to think anyone in office is so low as to give illegal aliens anything other than the boot as well as sending their homelands the bills for the cost of their unwanted people.

    Regardless of where he was born, Obama is NOT legally eligible to be president because he is not a "natural born citizen" as required by the Constitution (Article II, Section 1, par 5).

    The Supreme Court determined the definition of "natural born citizen" in 1874 (Minor vs. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162)- wherein they state that "all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives or natural-born citizens."

    It is essential to realize that the legal definition requires BOTH parents to be citizens. The fact that Obama's father was NEVER a US citizen is not disputed by anyone - not even Obama himself. Consequently, he is NOT eligible. Those who deny it are genetically irrational (i.e. Democrat). It really is that simple.

    @vigilant i do, indeed i read, actually understand, and at times am obligated to apply the constitution. I have argued cases based on it and won, i have taken the oath to uphold and it on at least 5 occasions.
    I couldn't even get you to read it once! Have uou found those sections that mention voting yet?

    i also have a vauge memory that a case against obama was brought on that ground and dismissed, are you aware of that?

    A lawsuit filed in an Arizona superior court by Kenneth Allen (Allen v. Arizona Democratic Party) alleged that Obama was not a natural-born citizen because his father "was a resident of Kenya and thus a British citizen".[120] Allen argued that the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Minor v. Happersett required a natural-born citizen to be born in the U.S. of two U.S. citizen parents; however, the judge dismissed the suit on March 7, 2012, ruling that "President Obama is a natural born citizen under the Constitution" and that "[c]ontrary to Plaintiff's assertion, Minor v. Happersett ... does not hold otherwise."[121]
