Turns out Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will testify before Congress about the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Clinton is now slated to appear in January before both the Senate and House's foreign relations committees, Politico reports.
Conspiracy theories abounded after Clinton said she couldn't attend today's Capitol Hill hearings on Benghazi because she is recovering from having fainted and suffered a concussion. Critics said she had "a diplomatic illness" or the "Benghazi flu."
But defenders of Clinton have said those assertions are ridiculous.
"All of you who know [Clinton] would know she would rather be here today," said Senate Foreign Relations Chairman John Kerry, D-Mass., at today's hearing. He is expected to succeed her as Secretary of State. "I assure you, it is not her choice. She looks forward to appearing before the committee in January."
