Who Would You Nominate for Politix Person of the Year?

Not all of you were on board with President Obama as Time's person of the year pick. So that led Politix to wonder, which political figure do you think deserves the title of "person of the year?"

Let us know your nominations in the comments below. Based on your responses, we'll set up a poll so that you can vote on the most popular finalists.

Just to get you started... Here are a few ideas (but feel free to suggest your own candidates!):

Ron Paul: For sticking to his guns, and running one of the most bluntly honest presidential runs we've ever seen.

Cory Booker: He gets a lot of props for being the hyper-energetic mayor of Newark. And for being a superhero on the side.

Paul Ryan: For rousing some real grassroots enthusiasm the conservative half of Team Romney-Ryan.

Gary Johnson: Won more libertarian votes than any candidate in history, and revived the dream of a third party.

Clint Eastwood: For "Eastwooding," obviously.

Bill Clinton: For his much-loved DNC convention speech. He said he spent 3 weeks writing it - but the best lines were the ad-libs. Sample: "I was just a country boy from Arkansas, and I came from a place where people still thought two and two was four."

Elizabeth Warren: Progressive icon.

Chris Christie: He's flavor of the month with NJ residents for his Hurricane Sandy response. But conservatives are down on him for "embracing" Obama right before Nov 6.

@PolitixMary Then I would like to officially nominate and suggest that the American people be made "person of the year" for having to tolerate and suffer at the hands of partisan politics, obstructionist politics, extremist politics by both sides and a total lack of regard for the constitution (Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness). In my more than 60 years the last 12 years have been the most worthless Govt I have ever seen come out of Washington D.C.. NONE of those people deserve a single accolade.

For anyone who thinks their party has their interests at heart, you need a wake up call! Politicians are only it for themselves, no matter the party. If you put term limits and campaign spending caps in place, then maybe we'd get some good people to do the work of "We the People."

And despite all the carping that goes on, you guys do a pretty good job, really, with all the complaining, people are still logging on again and again, so thank you for all your hard work. I only left the peoples republic about a year or so ago, miss that town...

In all seriousness Politix considering the lies, the mismangement, the stonewalling, the lying, the inability to compromise, the amount of outright lies by both parties and their refusals to deal with real issues whatsoever, I fail to see how you can find a way to name a single person as your political person of the year. If I was calling the shots at Politix the person of the year would be None of the above.
