Dec '12 Shaheen42 v Yes, they should keep working Of course , they should keep on working till they find some workable solution, irrespective of Christmas or any other occasion. As true public servants , they must be good precedent-setter to prove how urgent issues are dealt with commitment and best input. Post
Dec '12 truthsayer v Yes, they should keep working From what I've seen out them seems they have been a vacation for years. It's time they stop jerking the American people around and earn those salary's and benefits they receive. They have no problem at all with coming together to raise their pay. Post
o Dec '12 PattyD v Yes, they should keep working As if! Obamas left for his 4 million dollar, tax payers expense, Christmas Holiday already! Post
Dec '12 Mr_GO_HERD v No, they should be with family They should work everyday but Christmas Day. MANY Americans work that schedule. Post
Dec '12 Scottar v No, they should be with family With Obama not able to compromise and lead why go through the pain? r3 replies Post
Dec '12 Politicskid v Yes, they should keep working I don't care how important you are, when you're actions affect three hundred million people, they should be your top priority. Anyhow, Obama's already used up all his vacation time for his second term in my opinion. He's taken like three times as many personal and campaign trips then any other president. The President should be willing to take a bullet for his country, as he should be willing to celebrate Christmas at a different time. Post

Dec '12 Jean v Yes, they should keep working yes they should.....if they were doing their job they would have had it resolved by now...but when was the last time it mattered what the taxpayers think? we are just here to pay for their pork....their personal benefits etc. Post
u Dec '12 Oneness3am_i v Yes, they should keep working Why not...the economy never takes a day off Post
u Dec '12 fistv v No, they should be with family No, they all need to go home for the next 48 months and stay the hell out of our business. :-) Post
Dec '12 Food4thoughts v No, they should be with family If by "work" we mean they should sit in a room and disagree on which came first the chicken or the egg...I see no point. Post
u Dec '12 Blessed v Yes, they should keep working I get ONE day off for Christmas! I have to keep working so I can pay my part of the obamadon'tcare. Everything that man has touched has turned to...well, exactly what he wanted it to. If he thinks that making us beg will make us his little socialist puppets, he had better think again. He has no family in Hawaii, nor is it his birthplace or where he grew up. I will gladly take the plunge over that cliff if he will take a vacation to Kenya...forever. I will still be gaggin' when I find out how much Michael, I mean Michelle, spent on lobster (her favorite dish) while there. Post
u Dec '12 lochlomond v Yes, they should keep working The Washington crowd are paid quite handsomely for relatively little work. They have aides and assistants to attend to those annoying day to day tasks. When very important matters are being discussed and broadcast on C-Span it astonishes me that so few Senators or Congressmen are actually present. I imagine they can watch the proceedings on closed circuit TV but it would be more appropriate for them to be present. The uniformity of the absenteeism from both sides of the aisle, except for those scheduled to speak suggests indifference and a complete lack of interest in their primary job. It has become quite clear that few of them, in either house, really knew what was i... Post
Dec '12 scotta v Yes, they should keep working We are paying them to handle the peoples business and they are not. If they don't want to do the job turn in your resisnation and we will find somebody who will. This also goes to the "Banner" also. Post
Dec '12 HoosierFan v No, they should be with family The Fiscal Cliff is a bunch of garbage anyway. Post
Dec '12 raven2099 v Yes, they should keep working They should but the won't therfor their jobs should be forfiet Post
Dec '12 Capt_Morgan02 v Yes, they should keep working It's their responsibility as public servants to do what is necessary. It's no different, in principle, than our soldiers staying deployed to do their jobs. Time for Washington DC to suck it up and feel some of the pain of this economy. B3 r1 reply e27 endorsed Post
Dec '12 PNWest v Yes, they should keep working If the country's financial health is truly at stake like they claim it is then it is unconscionable for our political leaders not to be working on it. 24 hours a day until it is resolved. Like the others have said - the soldiers don't get to go home, why the politicians? B1 r10 replies e7 endorsed Post
Dec '12 RoyFloyd v Yes, they should keep working Our political leaders should have to live in the same corporate anti-family America they've helped construct. Workers had to staff businesses on Thanksgiving, to gear up for the consumer frenzy that just couldn't wait a few more hours. All the stores are running 24 hours the week before Christmas for the same reason. U.S. workers enjoy far less vacation time than those in any other industrialized country, Japan and Korea included. Like in so many other quality-of-life indices, we're 3rd world, and I've got no sympathy for the elite who made us that way. B2 e5 endorsed Post
Dec '12 Thegrif v No, they should be with family Why? Obama wants to go over the cliff. It's already to late. B4 r7 replies e1 endorsed Post
Dec '12 FFX_VA v No, they should be with family Nothing will happen until the last minute anyway, besides, they can always make any fix retroactive. Mr President & Congress, go home, relax, enjoy family for a few days, then come back to DC and not accomplish anything useful :-) B2 e2 endorsed Post
Dec '12 wild_turkey6 v Yes, they should keep working The military doesn't stop fighting for Christmas, why should lawmakers have that time off? B1 e3 endorsed Post
Dec '12 stepped_in_it v Yes, they should keep working Their already a bunch of god-less, blood sucking leeches and do not require nor deserve a holiday/vacation. But, I do want to tell them Merry Christmas.....you turds! B1 e2 endorsed Post
u Dec '12 Nat If they'd actually been working the job would already be done and they wouldn't be whining about having to work through Christmas. We have hundreds of thousands of military personnel that will not be home for Christmas. What makes Congressmen/women any better than those who are actually doing something for this country? B2 Post @Nat

Dec '12 DogLady_1 No one can take God or prayers out of public schools... as long as their is one persion at the school who believes and prays, God and prayer will be in school. It is impossible to ban God from a building. Kids bring him to school with them. As for congress, they need to work through the Christmas holiday (which is man-made anyway)... They procrastinated and chose to waste our time bickering and being hard-heads. Now they it's crunch time. They don't deserve a vacation. They haven't done any work! B2 Post @DogLady_1
