Demand For Joe Biden TV Show Rises

WH petition wants small screen focus on VP

Think "West Wing" mixed with "Veep". A group of petitioners on the White House website want President Barack Obama's administration to "authorize the production of a recurring television program featuring Vice President Joe Biden."

The petition reads like it could have been written by a Biden family member - or the vice president's potential 2016 presidential campaign. "Vice President Joe Biden has a demonstrated ability to bring people together, whether at the negotiating table or at the neighborhood diner. We, therefore, urge the Obama Administration to authorize the production of a recurring C-SPAN television program featuring the daily activities and interactions of the Vice President with elected officials, foreign dignitaries and everyday American families."

That's not all. "Such a program would educate the American public about the duties and responsibilities of their Vice President, while providing a glimpse of the lighthearted side of politics even in the midst of contentious and divisive national debates."

But Biden's fans actually don't have to wait for a network or cable show. Video of Biden's ceremonial swearing-in Thursday for new senators has received rave reviews. It seems Biden was especially schmoozy around his old Senate haunt, complementating relatives of new senators, no matter the political party.

Tweeted Democratic activist Christine Pelosi (@sfpelosi): "White House petition to authorize television program featuring @VP Joe Biden - no need: real deal is on @cspan".

I like Joe Biden. I think he would make a better president than Obama but this is total foolishness if he has an intention of running for President.

really... if Biden wants to be the next celeb politique, he can step down from actually doing the nation's work! I really think it would be foolish for Biden to enetertain such an idea... he needs to go visit other reality show people and see how living in The Truman Show can impact your life, your family, your professional life, etc.

Everyone has skeltons in the closet. And we all do stupid things now and then... It hurts less famous people, it would destroy an executive in our nation's government.

And with our nation's burning desire to kill each other over elephants and donkeys right now, a show like this would just be pure fuel for the fire.

The media is being very irresponsible and outrageous to even consider such a thing.

@marine1 You said the looney tunes are just around the bend. It reminded me of an ambush the "Clowns" in my movie script were about to commence of some Taliban. And they were coming around a bend (the taliban) and "Cali": makes the statement about where did they get a tank. You said what you said and I enhanced your statement saying yeah they are coming and they have a tank. Just my sense of humor.

Joe Biden IS very entertaining, and if the senate swearing-in clips are any indication, I might tune in. He was amusing. Also, it is true that most of us really don't understand what the Vice President actually does for a living other than preside over the Senate.

No , I wouldn't watch , wealthy political hacks thinking they're funny or cool don't get it .
But , imagine how much we could save on tele-prompters that our current 'wizard of uhs' requires.
