In the wake of Monday's heated "
debate" between right-wing agitator Alex Jones and the comparatively mild-mannered liberal pundit Piers Morgan, the White House is agreeing to respond to Jones' petition to send his English rival packing.
The petition - which demands Morgan be deported for "attacking the second amendment" - has now garnered just over 100,000 signatures, a number
The Daily Caller notes is well over the minimum for an official reply from the executive branch.
"The White House responds to all petitions that cross the threshold and we will respond to this one," said White House spokesman Jay Carney in a a statement. "In the meantime, it is worth remembering that the freedom of expression is a bedrock principle in our democracy."
