There's politics making for strange bedfellows, and then there's this.

A group of Satanists plan to rally in support of Florida Governor Rick Scott's recent signing off on Senate Bill 98, which grants public school boards the right to allow student prayer at school-led events. The rallying of the alternatively-faithful will take place on January 25th in front of Governor Scott's Tallahassee office.

"We feel it's time for Satanists to come out and say exactly who we are," said Lucien Greaves, a spokesman for the southern Florida region's Satanic Temple, a "more or less an online community" according to Greaves.

"The name Satan resonates with a lot of people," assured Greaves, who claims Satanists believe Satan to be just as compassionate as others believe their God to be.

Please repeat it because as far as I know teacher's aren't congress....
It says congress shall make no law for or against religion....that means lawmakers MUST stay out of it....it restricts lawmakers from infringing on the peoples expression of religion, wherever that may be....didn't realize a teacher was a lawmaker and part of congress....

Well if teachers are permitted to lead prayers then they can not prevent statanist from doing the same. Precisely why religion should bd kept out of public schools. I think the bigger issue here is satanist student groups. Christian conservatives have been pushing so hard to let religion into schools, this is the result.

This is exactly what I predicted on this very website would happen when arguing against allowing religious activity in public schools and buildings. Evrrytime I did christian conservatives argued i was wrong to oppose teaching evolution or opposing bringing religion into public schools or public property. Lets see what happens now that they have there way, and satanist start using the schools. What is that saying, be careful what you pray for or someday...

You are allowed to pray in school, it just cant be lead by the school. If you want to pray, pray. Why do you need validation of your religion? Sounds like someone is a little unsure of themselves.

Could you imagine how long it would take for classes to begin if they had to pray for each religion separately?
