u Feb '13 Ch4osWe4veR v A Democrat We need to move away from the imperialistic approach to foreign policy we have taken under Conservative policies. We don't like this guy? We go to another sovereign nation and kill him. We want their oil? We go into another sovereign nation and take it, addressing public outcry with tall tales of weapons, terrorists, and "spreading democracy". What D-bags we are. Then we wonder why the rest of the world thinks of us as such. Also, cut the insane defence budget to only what is necessary to defend our own nation's borders, and put a huge dent in the deficit with it. Post
Jan '13 PoliticalSpice v None of the above Ron Paul or Dennis Kuchinich, both would cut wasteful military spending and seek to limit unnecessary and illegal wars. r1 reply Post
Jan '13 ConserveUSA I think someone with some sense and keep an eye on North Korea. The Pacific Side needs not to be cowards but watch them with a close eye. Post @ConserveUSA

u Jan '13 BelinKS v A different Republican I just don't trust Hagal; but would like a republican to hold the position. That would keep our system of balances in place. e14 endorsed Post
Jan '13 Rapn21 v A Democrat We need a complete change from the failed Republican foreign policy of antagonism and selfishness. America should be obsessed with only caring about it's own national interests at the expense of the rest of the world's. It needs to end the War on Terror which is only making the rest of the world hate us more. We need to end the "you're either with us or against us" mentality and acknowledge the nuances in diplomacy. e8 endorsed Post
u Jan '13 mountain-folk v None of the above I would like to see a real man from the military, from any branch, but a man with the experience of combat, up close and personal. When I joined the National Guard in 1947 we had officers who had fought the war in Europe and the Pacific One Officer we respected went into the battle of the Bulge as a Corporal and come out of the engagement as the Capt. This was a man who could train you for what could happen under pressure; he won your respect and honor. He was sent to the Korean War as an officer, and would write us back each week as to how the war was going under General Macarthur. When they finally beat the Communists to the Yallou River he wrote that they would soon... B1 r4 replies e6 endorsed Post

Jan '13 DARSB v Chuck Hagel Senator Hagel is a good choice. He knows how DC works (or doesn't) and he has combat experience, something I think should be in the job description anyway. Besides, I think a confrontation between Senators Hagel and Paul could be high comedy. e3 endorsed Post
