A Texas Dad walked up to the greeter at his child's elementary school and told her he had a gun and his target was inside as students arrived one morning last week.
Ronald Miller, 44-years-old, was not armed, but he told police he wanted to see how staff would react at Celina Elementary School, just north of Dallas, the Huffington Post said. The incident comes at a time when parental nerves are frazzled after last month's horrific mass-shooting at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school.
The school greeter "froze in panic." Miller went into the main office, where he reportedly continued his test. School staff called police after Miller left. He was arrested on charges of third-degree felony terroristic threats. His bail was set at $75,000, the Huffington Post said.
"He told them that he is a shooter and 'you're dead, and you're dead,'" school district Superintendent Donny O'Dell told NBC-DFW.
Another father at the school, David Siano told NBC-DFW that the incident illustrates the need to beef up security measures. "We are not prepared," Siano said. "His intent was just simply to say, 'you've done nothing' and that's what it showed... So if that's what it takes, it's a shame."
