@Thegrif I always see these Armstrong wannabes riding in packs, hogging the road in their "cute" little spandex tights. Give me a break! I don't want even start with cyclists on the road...

@methinks still when I read "guys in spandex" it cracks me up.
    I feel the same way.
I really don't know what to say about these spandex cowboys.

This will be much tougher than cheating his way to the podium of the Tour de France. Armstrong has thoroughly disgraced himself and squandered the goodwill of millions of people -- goodwill that in retrospect he never deserved or earned. Kudos to Sheryl Crow for escaping his clutches years ago, when I surmise she must have learned the ugly truth about his doping and lying, and then she dumped him without ever publicly explaining why. She was smart to get away from this immoral horror show.

I thought that he was the one who dumped her when she found out she had breast cancer. Always thought that was pretty low for a guy who was himself a cancer survivor.

I agree. Not that I care a lot about anyone who rides a bike for a living, but I can appreciate the hours on hours of training they must go through. I kinda liked knowing there was a guy out there completely dominating his sport, but now we all know how it was able to do it.
It's a little disappointing, still the guy did whip cancer, right?

@Thegrif Speaking as a former cancer nurse, I'd guess his physicians, nurses and pharmacists had more to do with his recovery than Mr Armstrong's personal strength of character.

I think Lance Armstrong belongs in the same heap of garbage that the steroid using pro baseball players belong in. They made millions of dollars acting as role models to kids around the world all the time knowingly cheating. They are a disgrace to sports. None of those baseball players should ever get into the Hall of Fame and Armstrong should never be allowed to compete again. Let him serve as a role model for others who wonder whether or not it is worth it to cheat.

I stood up for Armstrong for over a decade. I believed that someone tested as many times as he was tested and never caught had to be clean. I wish his cancer foundation well and much success. But I don't need to ever hear the name Lance Armstrong again.

I kept thinking about him when my son-in-law got testicular cancer and maybe some of that hope helped pull Mike through. He's now a 10 year survivor. Too bad all the good that Armstrong portrayed has now been tainted.

I dont care that he was a better drugged up cyclist then the other drugged up cyclists. The way he treated the people who testified of his drug use is reprehensible. The hope he has given to cancer patients is wonderful. Is he a really bad person who did something good or a really good person who did something bad? I don't know.

For gosh sakes people! Its a SPORT! Not Life or Death! I rode a bicycle a million miles when i was a kid and i took medicine when I was sick. What the heck is the difference? HE RODE A DANG BICYCLE!!!!!!!!!!

Except getting rich cheating and bullying his accusers out of their careers and using the cancer car? Take your pick. Otherwise I don't care that he doped, it is just that he is a liar and a bully.

Not that simple. Where you representing your country in a globally sanctioned event when you rode your dang bike? Did you have responsibilities to your fellow riders ( who spent their whole lives training and were honest) and nations to be honest with them when you rode your dang bike? Did you falsely sign registration documents to compete in a global event that you knowingly was untrue simply for the purpose of cheating, just so you could ride your dang bike? I commend Armstrong for what he did for cancer awareness and respect his toughness to beat it, but as a cyclist his competing days are over.

Just how big is his ego? He will have to self-sponsor, and I doubt he has much of a fan base anymore.
It might be interesting to see how he does W/O drugs, though.

Who cares ? Amazing how many people worry so much what these millionaire cry-baby, pro athletes or the super rich, out of touch nut jobs in Hollyweird say or think BUT
refuse to take the time to examine the politicians living out of our pockets & tax dollars. And the dumbing down of America continues !
