13 hr LEC v No No, partially because of the obstructionist tactics of the Right and partly because Obama can't settle in on Who He IS.. he keeps trying to emulate various past presidents and that keeps him from finding his own stride. Too bad.. there really was a lot of hope for his Presidency.. I doubt you can find too many people who feel that way now. Post
May 11 OpenGov v Somewhat I'm a single issue voter, and Obama has shown strong support for Open Government. No telling how this will affect business as usual, but it's a step in the right direction! Post
May 8 Prime_Meridian v No I once was optimistic about President Obama's second term. Sadly, I am no longer. Post
u May 6 The_Bald_Guy v No One positive note:.we.will definitely be.done.with him after.this one... Post
o May 5 TheHandsomeOne v No I've not been the slightest bit optimistic about anything to do with government since Perot promised to tear down the halls of congress and GIVE the government back to the people. Post
May 3 Mr_me v No I am hopeful but don't expect things will turn around. I would love to see this economy improve see folks get back on their feet. I don't care who gets the credit Post
May 2 NoAmnestyEVER v No The only two things I'm optimistic about are that Obama's mass amnesty of 33 million illegals will fail miserably and that we'll have a Republican president in 2016. Post
u May 2 Chromalord v No The GOP has made it clear that they can ill-afford any victories by the White House and hope to still win in 2016. That plan didnt work out to well for them before, I wonder why they are still pursuing it. Obviously the people that get hurt are the same people the GOP puts on the back-burner behind their own greedy interests. I'm still not convinced Obama's ethnicity is completely off the table. Post

May 2 darkmoonman @NoAmnestyEVER They admitted publicly that they oppose everything, not because their supporters want them to, but because they've vowed to block everything. Also, they admitted they don't care what the people they represent (e.g. you) want - they'll vote any way they please. Post @darkmoonman
u Apr 26 4PeteSake v Yes The only thing I am pessimistic about is how far the Obama-Haters will go to try and wreck everything so they can blame him. Post
Apr 25 jmiller94 v No Second verse, same as the first. Lies, skyrocketing unemployment, lies, expansion of government, lies, murdered Americans and non-combatants, lies, higher taxes, lies, uncontrollable debt, lies, did I mention lies? Oh and infringement of civil liberties. Post
Apr 25 RightWingJive v Yes Yes. To an extent, the racism has toned down on the part of the far right. Obama beat them some convincingly, that many Republicans and right wingers are just beaten down. Also, I believe the Dems will take congress in 2014 which should end the right wing reign of terror. The President is such a great leader that he will find a way to continue to preserve American principles, and continue to protect us against the tyranny of the far right wing. The bottom line is that America had to be protected for the hateful and racist right wing. He has done that. That, in itself, is a success. Post
Apr 24 MarkColwell v No I don't think it's going to be pretty, not as bad a Romney presidency... but still pretty bad. Post
Feb '13 Kevinjnelson v Somewhat The only reason I am saying I'm somewhat optimistic is that Reagan came to power from the Carter era, so maybe we'll get a new conservative movement from this term too. History repeats itself, right? Post
Jan '13 Jlwolff2012 v No HAHAHAHAHA... no. I wasn't optimistic about the first! He has drug this nation down into an economic, security, and spending hole! Yes, he has a great leader and friendly look to himself as well as his family, BUT he has been neither of these in the past four years, and will NOT become one in the upcoming four. Post
Jan '13 RedFloppyShoes v No There will be higher taxes, more restrictive laws, more out of control EPA regulations, fewer jobs, higher unemployment, more debt, more out of control spending...and the list goes on. So no, I am anything BUT optimistic. B3 r11 replies e83 endorsed Post
u Jan '13 CaryNickel v No Nearly half the electorate didn't vote to re-elect Obama, nor do they support his policies, yet he governs as if he had some sort of mandate with his "my way or the highway" attitude, alienating half the nation. His definition of "compromise" is everyone agreeing with him, yet he is actually the least experienced President we've seen in my lifetime. His interest is only in furthering his marxist agenda, the Constitution and liberty mean nothing to him. He ignores the deep rooted problems our nation's economy faces while working to "fundamentally transform" our nation into something it was never meant to be. He ignored the economy during his first term, opting to push s... B3 r10 replies e36 endorsed Post
Jan '13 Russell797 v Yes Yes, but only if he grows a pair and stops giving in to the intransigent right, and pushes harder to represent the ideals he won a majority of the vote to do. Clean, renewable energy and infrastructure improvements should be at the top of the list. Both sorely needed, and a great way to boost the economy. B3 e25 endorsed Post
Jan '13 mimi57 v No The last four years were bad, I can't even imagine what what he has in store for the next four ...or more. He's taking our Second Amendment Right, and working on taking the rest, some people can't accept he is leading us into Socialism or worse. They either can't understand it, or even scarier, is the fact that many seem to embrace it. That's only because they have always known Freedom and our Freedom came from much blood shed by our courageous patriots that fought and died for this great Nation...it's a New time , and one I know many will have regrets for the decision they made. Socialism/ Communism or Fascism doesn't work and we are headed in any of the three direc... B4 r4 replies e18 endorsed Post
Jan '13 PNWest v Yes I believe that Obama's biggest failure in his first term was in trying to be a post partisan President. He got that completely and totally wrong. He assumed that the GOP would work with him to fix the country's problems. He should have known better. From the beginning the GOP has put party ahead of country and has obstructed as many of Obama's initiatives as they could. Over the last 2 years or so Obama has realized it and I think he will not only fight FOR America in the next 4 years but will fight GOP obstructionism instead of trying to compromise. The American people are with him in this effort and I expect to see more progress. r21 replies e18 endorsed Post
Jan '13 DogLady_1 v Somewhat ONLY if Americans stop looking to the president as the answer to all our problems and start making their own elected representatives responsible and hold them accountable. I am not that optimistic about congress right now at all. Presidents can't do much without some cooperation and proper statesmanship from the legislature.
