Sticks and stones may break your bones but a gun nut with an AK47 can take out an entire kindergarten class or two.

Liberals seek a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.
    Yes Liberals want forced Communism

That's not true at all. Most of us want the same thing. To feel safe walking under trees. People can kill each other in lots of ways. A lot of us would just like to make it a little harder for them to do. You know cut down on the body count per occurrence.

    @VCP

You silly Gun nuts we are not going to try to take your guns, well maybe repatriate the steel to Mother earth, just a couple of million "Scary" looking guns,And a couple of million "Scary"looking accessories of said (super Scary Guns)

Unfortunately as good as reasonable gun control would be for the country the NRA is too powerful still to get it passed. The dems would be wiser to back off of this issue for now until the tea bag faction of the GOP damages the republican brand some more. Perhaps sometime after Hillary Clinton is elected we will be able to get something like this passed. Not now.
  • !
You're 100% correct. this is ill timed pandering to the base. More than 200 guns exempted, I can keep my AR and so can hundreds of thousands of others? This is very poor timing since she knows she can't get it passed. She's been overshadowed by boxer in years past and not really much of a senator that the people of California identify with. This is pandering for liberal California votes. nothing. more.

I used to think Hilly would be a shoo-in for Prez but I'm not so sure now and I can't exactly put my finger on it. That is, unless something more positive happens.
  • !
Absolutely agree. Can't say 'ole Bill didn't warn the Dems! It is not the right time....yet! As for Hillary.....we'll talk about that after everyone else leaves the party....LOL!

all this nonsense has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with gov control and new ways to rob from the citizens. just about everything they come up with costs more yet does nothing to prove safety.

Anyone else not surprised that they are coming for our rights and our freedoms by pushing their personal agenda's? Thankfully though the GOP owns the house so i doubt this will make it through, and the worst part is they have a chance for meaningful reforms and laws that could help but instead they want to push crap.
  • !
Why don't you panic while you're at it. She knows she can't get this passed. She's fallen out of sight for the most in California and her margin of victory is not assured these days as most Californians view her as old and out of touch. She trying to rouse the liberal vote in California to stay in office next time around. It's called pandering to the base. They all do it. Much ado about nothing.

@Canoochee @Tomincali This bill has no teeth because she know it will NOT pass. This is part of the process. Going to go to the house I have the option to vote it up/down or revise it and send it back to the Senate. You won't see language of how it will be a forced into it is close to becoming a law.
  • !
@Canoochee The intent is to stop manufacture and sales. You can keep what you already have. Makes enforcement much simpler.

I have family in Georgia and Pennsylvania that own a few guns (not sure what kind exactly). I have shot them many times and I'm for the ban...?
  • !
@Gtiallday Did you get the desire to start shooting people when you shot them? What do you think the ban will accomplish, considering none of the recent mass murderers obtained their weapons legally?
  • !
It appears Feinstein has little experience with firearms since the selector switch on the rifle she's holding is set to "fire".
  • !
@Canoochee No I did not get the urge to kill people but I will say it is very scary the killing power they obtain. Also, the guns Adam Lanza used to murder 20 5 year olds were legally purchased and registered in his mothers name. Now with that being said you tell me if a ban on assault rifles and high capacity clips (such as what he used) would have stopped innocent children from being brutally being murdered? If military weapons were banned prior to Adams mother purchasing them, 20 5 year olds would have been able to still be living right now.

Did I read correctly that they want to include some semi-auto pistols and one of the ban requirements is that they have a pistol grip?
  • !
I'm gonna get in the booth. Even if liberals like her aren't in your district, vote against anything gun control (democrat) until they get the message.
  • !
Gun control isn't about guns. It is about control. I love the part of the story with the police chief saying that no one needs these guns in our cities. Yet I'll bet every officer under is command is issued one.
  • !
Whether they pass it or not! This is some crazy infringement and I hope people are smart enough to see and make the pay for it election day!
  • !
@thumper11 so folks like yourself can read the questions, look up the words meanings and learn. Your welcome!!
  • !
    @VCP,
The point (that you missed) is that - just as you see fit to express views of your choice, though you don't really "need" to - so we (non-pacifist) peaceful, law-abiding, American citizens see fit to keep and bear whatever arms we choose. Rights are NOT contingent on "need". It really is that simple.
  • !
@thumper11 if you ask anyone who knows me and you told them that you thought that I am now or ever was a pacifist. They would get a hernia from laughing so hard at such a silly statement. I'm a gun owner. I have two sons who were in the military and are no longer with us. I have one son who is a small arms instructor for the United States Navy who learned his trade from me way before he joined the armed forces. Rights are always contingent on need. The need for freedom. With freedom and rights comes rules and regulations. No one is free to do whatever they like or want to do. No person that is a regular citizen of this country needs an assault rifle. They may want one but they don't need one.

@NTBFW you'd be surprised buddy! We got some real turnipes here, who believe the NRA ''lobbies the gun companies and the rich, arg arg arg''! They don't realize the people back the NRA. They think the NRA will be weaker.
  • !
@AlexMIA it amazes me that anyone would surrender a right. I hope that the 80 million gun owners realize that the only way to lose a right is to give it away.
  • !
@NTBFW Hopefully I hope there are more than 80 million and willing vote against these people. You know whats messed up I've read posts from A.H. saying they have assault rifles but they are ok with this cause they won't lose theirs. Those ''It's ok as long as it don't effect me''. How messed up is that?

Unfortunately, this still misses the point. The issue is that they don't enforce existing laws. They need to close some loopholes, and fully check backgrounds. This would prevent most of the issues. Most gun-owners want to be safe with them and have them for legitimate reasons. All this will do is make it illegal to own some large capacity clips. Why don't they make bank robbery illegal next, so we don't have any banks robbed?
  • !
you forgot to mention, all the militias in the world too. if they are not legal for, the us citizen, then they are not legal for anyone else in the world either. make them get rid of theirs first, then i shall consider my right to not have one.

the right to bear arms, is meant to be our right. to be able to defend ourselves, from our own stupid government too.
  • !
I get your point but THIS old woman knows more than a little about guns. I can't physically fight off a 200 lb attacker. But I CAN defend my self quite nicely with a gun. If you don't believe me, try me.
  • !
@NTBFW Just because she can hold up a gun and help write useless legislation about firearms doesn't mean she should be..........
