Newt Gingrich is telling his fellow Republicans that they can help shed the Debbie Downer vibe they allegedly put out by appearing a whole lot happier. And they can start by featuring on popular TV shows, just like he does.

"We need to find a thousand ways to be happy...I was just on Parks and Recreation," said Gingrich, as reported by BuzzFeed. He also waxed boastful about his appearance on the "Tonight Show" last July, which was followed by wife Callista's sending Snooki, of "Jersey Shore" fame, a stuffed elephant.

And why not? Snooki described her husband as "cute and nice" after all, a comment that was apparently taken as purely diplomatic by Newt's main squeeze.

Gingrich warned Republicans that 47%-style remarks are an obstruction to the GOP becoming the "governing party of America," and are to be avoided at all costs.

"I would like to say to every consultant in the party: If you think you are going to target less than 100 percent of the country you're not going to get any of our business," stated Gingrich.

I was talking to the chair of our local GOP the other day. She's perfectly happy as long as the state and national Republican apparatchiks leave the local party alone. During last fall's campaign she was frequently dismissed by the establishment GOPers since she was only a county chair while they (all white males) knew what they were doing.

This is the man who should have represented the GOP as their presidential candidate. He may not have done any better than Rominee, but, the race would have been exponentially more entertaining.

If more Republicans had Gingrich's stones the party would be much better off. Most of the bastards are too busy worrying about how they are portrayed in the media or in church.

@Canoochee I didn't want Romney to run and don't know why he was chosen, I
knew his Mormonism would be a target, I don't like Mormonism and I consider
myself a Christian. There are far too many flaws in it, I mean the polygamy and
just way too many other things. He may be a good person, but he was not a good
candidate. I think the Right is afraid to anger people, seeing as everyone is so
sensitive and political correctness is to the puke limit...

How about instead of worrying about pop culture you knock the wind out of the lefts class war sails?

1) Stop obstructing gay and lesbian rights. That's not what we should be about.

2) Stop trying to completely abolish abortion.

3) Come up with an effective immigration reform that will generate good revenue to put towards our debt.

4)Other than that, defend the constitution, and keep fighting tax increases and government spending and expansion.
