AIRBORNE DIPLOMACY
Critics Slam Hillary Clinton's Travel Schedule
Suggest it did little good

Hillary Clinton has traveled nearly a million miles as secretary of state. But don't expect any congratulations from many in the Twitter-verse.
The Atlantic's Megan Garber reports that traveled 956,733 miles as America's top diplomat. "During her four years as the nation's top diplomat - and particularly during her final year in that post - Clinton fashioned herself as something of a George Clooney of global affairs, spending almost as much time up in the air as she did on the ground."
Garber adds, "In the process, she broke records. In July of 2012, during a trip to Finland, Clinton met Madeleine Albright's most-countries-traveled-to mark - the record, at the time - of 98 countries. She then surpassed it with a trip to Latvia. The new secretary then went on to visit 12 more countries, for a closing total of 112."
But a lot of tweeters are unimpressed. Here's a sample.
- The Umpire (@RUmpire): "957,000 miles traveled, no treaties, Arab spring screw ups, one ambassador killed plus 3 others. Wonderful job Hillary".
- Sam Myers (@samzydeco): "On a private jet where you set the schedule and can lay down, have everything you desire at your disposal - big deal."
- Deano (@motocrosspop): "What a waste of tax payer dollars! There's more corruption and violence in the middle that ever!"
- WIU85 (@wiupopeye85): "And did pretty much nothing but run up expenses."
