Critics Slam Hillary Clinton's Travel Schedule

Suggest it did little good

Hillary Clinton has traveled nearly a million miles as secretary of state. But don't expect any congratulations from many in the Twitter-verse.

The Atlantic's Megan Garber reports that traveled 956,733 miles as America's top diplomat. "During her four years as the nation's top diplomat - and particularly during her final year in that post - Clinton fashioned herself as something of a George Clooney of global affairs, spending almost as much time up in the air as she did on the ground."

Garber adds, "In the process, she broke records. In July of 2012, during a trip to Finland, Clinton met Madeleine Albright's most-countries-traveled-to mark - the record, at the time - of 98 countries. She then surpassed it with a trip to Latvia. The new secretary then went on to visit 12 more countries, for a closing total of 112."

But a lot of tweeters are unimpressed. Here's a sample.

Here's a hint, they went on to discuss a document titled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States"
It's to funny that double standard that exists in a country where most can only see A or B and Us vs Them. Divided we fall, indeed.

To answer your question 1 ambassador. Now I'd like to know does 1 ambassador count more than the other americans that died under the previous administrations? Not just Obama and bush but all of them. Because, fyi, we get attacked far more often with far higher casualties under the gop. Just one of those facts you're more than welcome to check. You can take 911 off the table and work back to Carter and the GOP still wins hands down in the number of attacks on our foreign embassies and the numbers of americans killed on their watch.
As for your statement and what Rice had to do with it, I was drawing a parallel to show that by your standard number of miles travelled = results of a successful secretary of state, then by any measure Clinton is an improvement over the last couple of clowns.

i see no reason for us to pay for any such travels all meeting can be done over the computer costing next to nothing and it is safer than and a heck of alot cheaper with all the security and other things that have to go along with it.

You clearly dont know how diplomacy works or, have any interest of the outside world. Seriously, what you are saying is very ignorant and you are clearly oblivious to anything outside of where you live.

In some cultures, its perceived as an insult to not meet face to face, escpecially diplomacy. Diplomacy isn't about being cheap. Its about meeting face to face with other people and hammering relations out. If you dont go out and meet other people, those people will think you aren't taking them seriously. And its not about being safe either. THats why there is tight security at these meetings.
