Republicans in Massachusetts are allegedly "scrambling" for a candidate to run for Senate now that Scott Brown has pulled out of the running. The senate election will take place less than 6 months from now, on June 25.
And in the backroom discussions, Ann Romney has been mentioned several times - as has her son Tagg.
"That would be a very interesting thing. I would certainly love her to think about something like that," MA House Minority Leader Bradley Jones told the Boston Herald. And former Romney campaign aide Ron Kaufman revealed that "I've had several people call me and ask about Ann Romney."
Republicans in the Bay State are apparently "surprised and angered" with Brown, since he was seen as their best option to keep the seat out of Democratic hands.
@Neo_NtheMatrix Hey Neo, Sorry it went out as you originally saw it! I originally included both "yes" options but the positive one mysteriously disappeared. I've changed it now so it just has the positive "yes" option.
@PolitixMary Any chance you guys are gonna do the story about minority leader mcconnell and rand paul wanting to leagalize hemp farming? I think its very newsworthy on three levels, its good for farm economy, its good for the environment, and it is the same plant as marijuana, only subject to differnt growing condisions.
Ann Romney, a women senate candidate, hemp legalization which would excite a lot of your voters, as well as ron paul liberatarian types and left lening supporters of marijuana, along with a prominent role in changing the immigration laws would win a second look at the republican party from several blocks of voters they are lost to at present and could be a game changer...
@Jack-Black Organized religion has caused more deaths of human beings than any other thing in human history. I have no respect for organized religion. Nor do I have respect for Mormons who until 1978 believed black people were a "cursed race" by god.
Why would ANY republican in their right mind waste their time? MA is filled with left wing whack jobs who wouldn’t DARE vote for anyone who doesn’t have the requisite D beside their name. They had their chance in November and they opted to elect a lying, deceitful, opportunist Oklahoma carpetbagger who has fewer morals and principals than a London pickpocket.
@Fishbone345 There was no attack. Some people seem to suffer from a persecution complex as if saying they're being unfailry attacked somehow gives them suffering martyr points towards their own opinions.
Why do you say that Mimi? Ann couldn't do any worse than Kerry did. She definitely be a nice counterweight to Elizabeth Warren. I'm not saying Ann is my choice, but the liberals want to attack her and berate her as if she's unfit, but she's just as capable as Kerry was.
@mimi57 - How much experience do any of the senators have that haven't been in the Senate or Congress the last 40 years? Like I said, I'm not saying she's my choice, but she couldn't possibly be worse than Kerry or Ted Kennedy. Tell me if you had to choose between voting for Ted Kennedy and Ann Romney you wouldn't try to vote twice for Ann.
@Neo_NtheMatrix Yes, as my husband reminded me, Obama nor Hillary had no experience. And since we are in a post Obama America 'experience' is no longer a requirement. As for 'Sweaty Teddy...didn't he die?.. LOL No, seriously, I would never vote TWICE for anyone, I'd have to change my party affiliation to do that! 10..9..8..
@Fishbone345 John Kerry did not serve our military probably course that again but people who knew Nadal Hassan when he entered the military they said he served proudly as well. Is been since John Kerry left the military that he is phonolite with the rest is a ministration and I spit on our military.
Does this sound familiar? "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq."
Anyone who's ever served in the military would take that and say that his words are saying that only dumb people should go in the military. our military deserve a hell of a lot more respect than John Kerry has given them. He comes across as arrogant and entitled.
She has a BA in French, has no stated work experience, has done some charity work and has experienced serious health problems, so she is qualified to be a Senator because... she is married to Mitt Romney?
Like a recurring nightmare that keeps on playing out time after time in your head, they keep coming back(the Romneys) to inflict their sick aristocratic upper class ways on rest of us. Some one should tell them it is time to quit, that people are tired of them and their ways. But the GOP and the ruling class are blind to the truth or reason.
