An Oregon man has filed a lawsuit
claiming that a female IRS agent coerced him into checking boxes unrelated to his tax bill: namely, hers.
40-year-old Vincent Burroughs of Fall Creek brought the suit that charges IRS staffer Dora Abrahamson with pressuring Burroughs to perform sexual favors. In exchange, he claims, she'd forgo assessing any financial penalties as a consequence of his audit. While initially resistant to her solicitations, Burroughs admits to caving when Abrahamson showed up at his door in "provocative" clothing and threatened punishment for failure to, er, comply.
"She told (Burroughs) that she could be a bitch, or that she could be nice," reads the suit. "She said that she could impose no penalty, or a 40 percent penalty, and that if he would give her what she wanted, she would give him what he needed."
The suit, which claims the tryst did serious harm to his relationship with the man's "significant other," was not addressed by an IRS spokesman, who refused to comment when queried by reporters.
