Conservative Sites Highlight Left-Wing Politics of Suspected LAPD Killer

Are the political views of people linked to high-profile crimes relevant?

As police continue searching for an ex-Los Angeles police officer wanted in connection with the killing of a police officer and two others, conservative web sites are pointing out his left-leaning politics.

News outlets Thursday published some or all of a rambling manifesto allegedly written by Christopher Jordan Dorner, who police are seeking. The document praises prominent Democrats and media figures and expresses support for gun control. It also gives a shout-out to actor Charlie Sheen and Michelle Obama's bangs.

"SUSPECTED MASS-MURDERER'S MANIFESTO ENDORSES HILLARY, OBAMA, GUN CONTROL, ELITE MEDIA," is a headline on Breitbart.com. That article accuses the mainstream media of "selectively reporting parts of the manifesto, leaving out details that would reflect badly on them. The Daily Caller has a story with a headline, "Suspected cop killer an Obama, Piers Morgan fan."

Morgan, a strong supporter of gun control, who hosts a prime-time CNN interview program, tweeted his reactions to the attention given to him for being named in the manifesto.

"The LA cop-killer murder spree has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with deranged criminality. I hope they catch him asap," Morgan tweeted. He also wrote, "Shocking to see how many gun rights tweeters think this shocking LA cop-killer's manifesto is something to joke about. It's not."

I find it most interesting that everyone involved is not stating what happened to precipitate this psychotic break. Find it interesting the "alert" officers are indescriminately shooting unarmed civilians I trucks that are not the same make, model or color as that of Dormers and there aren't repercussions for the police-shooters. I think that there political leanings are only relevant if they carry out crimes to support those politics. Not necessarily. This guy is a psychopath who dreamed of the power he would wield when he had that badge and now he's lashing out against the people that he blames for him not getting it. His manifesto and his politics could be helpful in apprehending him but unless he inspires a movement they're otherwise irrelevant.

So that raises the question of whether this guy is inspiring a movement.
