Negative Rubio articles in both Miami and West Palm papers. "Rubio's vote against Violence Against Women Act will hurt him and GOP attempt to attract women's vote"
  • !
@martydotcom no, the liberal media trying to make a crusade out of it has the potential to affect the female sheeple. They should be more worried about the possibility of a very real civil war if Washington doesn't get there heads out of their asses.

@Calfkiller Why am I not surprised to see that you're from TN which = Uninformed
I mentioned two newspapers Miami, which has a very conservative editorial policy (Cuban, you know, like your savior Marco.) and West Palm which is liberal. Being uninformed and possessing no interest in learning, no curiosity as to why I would mention both rather than just one paper End of conversation you're not worthy of another finger tap

If Rand Paul wants to represent the "Tea Party" then he should resign from the GOP. Rubio is giving the GOP response. I certainly hope that Mr. Paul's speech is not carried by any of the major networks. Why should the GOP be given twice the opportunity as a sitting President?
  • !
"Why should the GOP be given twice the opportunity as a sitting President?" Because we (the People of the United States) out-number the president... I think the press is obligated to also show rebuttals from many sects of society... Why should only the DNC and the GOP get all the press coverage? Bring on the rebuttals from ALL political persuasions! I welcome it!

Another GOP MoRoN Rand is Randy...the British way and should be expelled like the Cancer he is.This is one of the Many many reason the GOP looks like fools they are
  • !
"I certainly hope that Mr. Paul's speech is not carried by any of the major networks." Aw, come on ... where's your sense of fun? Personally, I wouldn't want to miss it!

"If Rand Paul wants to represent the "Tea Party" then he should resign from the GOP."

I think that's the next step.

I expect to see a third party movement as the Republican party returns to reality and starts to help govern again.
  • !
Hey, I would welcome rebuttals from the Libertarian, Green, Constitution and other parties as well... It is high time we stopped thinking that only the GOP and the DNC's opinions count. They do not represent everyone. The press should make more efforts to infiorm citizens of diverse perspectives on political issues. That's their job! When they reserve the lion's share of their time for only two parties, they do a disservice to the People.

aint it funny how the truth stands out? Right now we have the rich and the free loader of society running this country. Wouldn't it be nice to have some common sense responsible people give it a try for 30 or 40 years?
  • !
@marine1 - that would be downright lovely... The beauty of a republic is that it thrives on the diversity of ideas... We must be creative in order to maintain liberty... As our people evolve, so should our ways to make sure we still live in a free country... isn't that our goal for all political discourse? To defend and maintain liberty?
  • !
@marine1 - "The great art of lawgiving consists in balancing the poor against the rich in the legislature and constituting the legislature a perfect balance against the executive power at the same time that no individual or party can become its rival. The essence of a free government consists in an effectual control of rivalries.

The executive and legislative powers are natural rivals; and if each has not an effectual control over the other, the weaker will ever be the lamb in the paws of the wolf.

The nation which will not adopt an equilibrium of power must adopt despotism. There is no other alternative. Rivalries must be controlled, or they will throw all things into confusion; and there is nothing but despotism or a balance of power which can control them." - John Adams

The Tea Party has to operate under the GOP But the GOP is not the Tea Party nor do they share are values and want to fix the problems in this country. The response is warranted because I believe neither political party is trying to fix anything.
  • !
the Tea Party "has to" operate under the GOP? Who made that rule? You don't think they could go ahead be their own party? If you look at the past few years, the TEA Party has written more legislation than the GOP... of course they want to fix problems, but does Congress??? So far, their actions (or inaction) has shown that they don't.

Sanity? Just a few of his saner quotes from WIKI. He's got the intellect we need ROFLOL

"On May 11th, 2011 Rand Paul stated that if some one believes in a right to health care...that it means people have the right to the home of hospital staff and enslave them.[10]
During the weekend before he was nominated, Rand said he wouldn't mind seeing a repeal of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) because it was unfair to businesses.[11]
After winning the nomination, Rand told interviewers Rachel Maddow of MSNBC and Robert Siegel of NPR that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 should never have been passed. He later backtracked, telling people that he was not a racist. He just thought that the Act was harmful to businesses.[12](But, Rand, if those comments don't reflect who you really are, why did you hold your victory party at an "exclusive" country club?)
A few days later, Rand chastised President Obama for his "anti-business"[13] criticism of BP's piss-poor handling of the volcano of oil and natural gas that they created in the Gulf of Mexico.[14]
And then he told an interviewer that there would be no need for laws if everybody was a Christian. Specifically, "I see that Christianity and values is the basis of our society.... 98% of us won’t murder people, won’t steal, won’t break the law and it helps a society to have that religious underpinning."[15]
Further on the BP oil volcano, Rand thought that people should stop playing the blame game because, well, shit happens.[1"

@Vance1 And Rand Paul is little more than a racist cult leader. You chose to follow him, choice. I think he's off the walls crazier than his father

*crickets crickets crickets* It doesnt matter. When the Tea Party started accepting money from Crossroads GPS and other big GOP supporters, they became nothing more then a extension of the GOP. This "tea party response" is meant to rally the 2010 support base, offering the illusion that the Tea Party is still what it was once thought to be.
  • !
The GOP must be very surprised to find they no longer speak for their own party. It's their own fault for courting the extremists in the Tea Party. Now that strategy is biting them in the behind.
  • !
I can't wait to see Rand Paul pick his nose and simulate fart noises under his arm for 10 minutes. It'll be the most intellectual thing any Tea Party member has ever done.
  • !
This is just more proof of what I have been saying. The Republican Party is not and has nothing to do with the Tea Party. Rand Paul just doesn't want to give up the ghost of this cancerous growth that the Republicans cut off!
  • !
Since they live in different states it's hardly possible for Sen Paul to "defeat Rubio in the GOP primary next cycle."
  • !
@DARSB I think he's talking about for president, which I think
Is way too early to be considering...

As for rand paul, he's no ron paul, but it will be interesting to watch...

This shows once again, to the delight of Democrats and intellectual Independents, how the GOP is unable to control its renegade children.

Shouldn't the Tea party be an actual stand alone party before they're given air time for a response? I mean, is "the National Association for free sex for guys named Jesse Jaymes party" getting air time? I must have missed the memo.
