Never mind that former Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner is suspected of killing four people, including two cops, in a self-declared war on the department. He has fans. Thousands of them.
There has been an outpouring of support for Dorner on social media, with fans declaring him a crusader against police corruption. News outlets published a manifesto reportedly written by Dorner claiming he was wrongly dismissed when he tried to report police brutality, New York Magazine reports.
Fans tweeted their messages of solidarity with hashtags like #WeStandWithDorner and #GoDornerGo and multiple fan pages popped up on Facebook.
"The spirit of Chris Dorner will live on forever in our hearts, as an eternal flame - symbolic of the will to stand up in an attempt to eradicate those who would seek to oppress us, by any means necessary, when no one else would," someone posted on a Facebook page called "We are all Chris Dorner," that has 3,824 likes.
