u 12 hr robbob280 v Iâm not sure If anyone under 21 or 18 wants to drink do you think age limits will stop them ! Post
14 hr BearDrummer v No Until the human brain matures, the use of alcohol increases the likelihood of addiction. If females, the human brain is usually mature around 21. In males it is usually around 25. If we are going to have laws about legal ages, they should be based on the science. Post
u Mon meggiemae v No During lunch hour seniors are coming back to class intoxicated/stoned? You think about it and then decide, OK Post
u Sun lolzgym v Yes bruh 21 is already over the hill at least let the kids have fun whilst they young bruh Post
Sun RichardLefevre v No 18-year olds drinking would likely have the same impact it has in Europe, where public violence among those 18-year olds is high. Furthermore, because we are a nation of drivers, the DUI rates and associated crimes would likely rise. Finally, a lot of older men and women would likely have more sex with 18-year olds, which could be a good thing (for that night). Post
u May 18 Granite4Red v Yes Actually whether 18, 21 or some other age, there should be what I call a UNIFIED Age of Majority. Driving, Drinking, Voting, Military, Smoking, and Abortions w/o Parental consent should ALL occur at the same age.....Since I am well past these ages, I would be OK with 30! (Kidding.....) I think 18 or 21 should be a Unified Age of Majority. Post

u May 17 bat62 v No Alcohol lowers inhibitions and encourages young people to follow the crowd regardless of what the crowd is doing. No 18-year-old is mature enough to handle alcohol. I also do not believe they have the wisdom and maturity needed to vote. Post
May 17 Asparagus v No It should be increased to an age where people are more responsible...Maybe like 35. Post
u May 16 buckshotlee v Yes Hell, they are letting them have sex, kill babies and same sex for fun! Why not let them get drunk too? Post
May 14 albe v Yes Freedom includes the freedom to harm one's self, let the Darwin rule apply , the survival of the smartest. Post
May 14 rafi2801 v No sure why not? gun nuts want guns in the hands of anyone why not let kids get drunk and kill themselves or others it seems the crazies have no problem with more dead children anyway... Just saying. Post
May 13 rattlersn v Yes it should be up to each state. Not Mandated by the feds mandating anything. Post
May 13 PJS1973 v No On the contrary, I think we should raise the legal definition of adulthood to 21. Post
May 13 Neoconic v Yes Of course. This is another easy logic Q & A. Either lower age to drink since 18 year olds are drinking anyway and have less addiction in nations where legal age is 14 or raise draft age to 21. Cannot have it both ways so either raise draft age or lower legal age to drink. If some kid can go off to war to get killed at 18 then he can drink by Gawd so long as harm reduction is being used. 12 step programs proven by science to be a fraud and 100% failure because spontaneous recovery heals on that end of things not the cult AA or NA. See ya on debates of that one since logic is easy to give correct answers when you do not vote based on emotions or desires. r1 reply Post
May 13 Neoconic BTW, Neocon is a word now thus; Neoconic has to become one next year so it is for sale and I own it. Buy it now for under 10k before it is worth 30k post dictionary word etc... Post @Neoconic
u May 12 sspphoto v No Terrific! Just what we need! New alcoholics getting younger thus greatly increasing the number of the most abused drug users in the world! Yes, alcohol reigns supreme as the most abused drug in the world! NO! I do not want to see the legal alcohol consumption age lowered to 18 ANYWHERE in the U.S.A.! It would be BAD NEWS ALL AROUND! There! I've said my peace! Post
May 12 Jaybird1964 v Yes If a person can die for their country at 18...they should be able to make their own choice!!! Post
Feb '13 wild_turkey6 v Yes An 18 year old can A. Fight and die for his country B. Own property and pay tax on it C. Be sued in court D. Be sentenced to death in capital cases E. Vote F. Serve on juries In all other legal scenarios, an 18 year old is considered an adult, but not on this. B2 r37 replies e125 endorsed Post
Feb '13 harold_lloyd v No Been there, done that. Didn't work out well. Turns out that 18 year old kids do not handle alcohol all that well. Big surprise. B1 r13 replies e65 endorsed Post
Feb '13 DreamStat1c v No We already have an issue with substance abuse, and DUI with our teenagers. Why add fuel to the fire? B2 e26 endorsed Post
Feb '13 Neo_NtheMatrix v No Why is this generation so concerned with staying high and drunk all the time? When I was 18 I had more important things to do, like work. We're $17T in debt due to this failed regime that has seized control of the White House. We need to sober up America. B1 r5 replies e20 endorsed Post
u Feb '13 BelinKS v Yes At 18 you can be in the military and shipped off to war! At the age of 18 you are considered an adult in every facet of life, except for buying and drinking alcohol. At 18 I had a job, was paying taxes and going to college. I was also married with our first child on the way. I must have gotten pregnant on our honeymoon. We were not being careful. We continued with our original plan to be married, working and going to college; we just had to add babies to the plan. We worked very hard! But we succeeded! At 18 I was a responsible adult in all things, which is more than I can say for a lot of people in their 20's and even 30's. If a person at the age of eighteen can be s... Feb '13 Wait-----what v No I know that teenagers will always find ways to get their alcohol, I know I did. But to legally lower the minimum drinking age invites disaster on America's youth. At 18, children should be focused on their college career and their goals in life, and those that are not attending college should be trying to get a foot hold into whatever job field they can. Not to mention that just because someone has reached the age of 18 does not mean that they are mature enough physically or mentally to handle the effects of alcohol on the body. I know 21 year olds that aren't. There is already enough going on in a teenager's life without adding alcohol to it. Do we really need to add ... B1 r16 replies e9 endorsed Post
Feb '13 DerivePI v Iâm not sure It's a trade off. Lower age means more vehicular homicides but more freedom. If a lower age is worthwhile, we need to increase punishment and enforcement for driving while impaired. First time drunk driving offense = minimum automatic 1 week stay in jail, loss of license for 1 year, permanent blemish on public record. e8 endorsed Post
Feb '13 Keyjo v Yes It always seems ironic that an 18 year old charged with Minor In Possession (M.I.P.) is tried as an adult! B1 e6 endorsed Post
u Feb '13 AceLuby v No Absolutely not. HS kids w/ free access to alcohol is a recipe for disaster. B1 e3 endorsed Post
Feb '13 Assayguy v No I agree if you can die you should be able to drink, so I think we should raise the elistment age to 21. Statistics says they are not mature enough to drink why should they be mature enough to fight in a war? e3 endorsed Post
