Remember Sarah Palin? It's been awhile since the 2008 GOP vice-presidential nominee was politically relevant.

The two-and-a-half-year Alaska governor recently parted ways with FOX News. And her late-campaign endorsement of Mitt Romney in 2012 was barely noticed.

Now the one-time reality show star is rejoining the political maelstrom. She'll speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in mid-March. The annual conference is a high-profile gathering of conservatives organized by the American Conservative Union.

Palin's political intentions aren't exactly clear. In an interview with Breitbart.com last month, Palin said her door was "wide open" and that she hoped to "share more broadly the message of the beauty of freedom and the imperative of defending our republic and restoring this most exceptional nation."

But immediate reaction to her appearance is snarkily skeptical. "Sarah Palin speaking at CPAC. So much for leaving Fox so that she doesn't just 'preach to the choir," tweeted The Huffington Post's Amanda Terkel (@aterkel).

@Canoochee No problem, just pointing out that different groups, whether they be southern trailer folk, inner-city blacks, hippies in Berkeley, and rural Utah Mormons have distinct cultures and voting patterns even though they're all good Americans.

What's really interesting about CPAC isn't who will be speaking, it's who has been banned - GOProud, in particular. When Michelle Malkin and Kurt Schlicter, fer cryin' out loud, think CPAC is dead wrong it's time to pay attention.

I know of approx 50.3% of the country would contribute to that cause (recent prez election) and most likely another 25%(half the remaining half) would want to hear her quiet also....HMMM......75% of the voting public. That's a lot of contributing!
