Jersey City Assemblyman and Democrat Charles Mainor is discovering that a simple lil' click can have complicated repercussions.

Mainor's in trouble with some constituents for having "liked" two rather adolescent Facebook pages. One is dubbed "Big Bootie Freaks," a site New Jersey Online describes as being "filled with photos of women with large derrieres." The other, entitled "You Got Knocked the F*ck Out Man," features violent videos of strangers being assaulted.

Mainor, who also works as a police detective, only admits to having "liked" the less sexy of the two sites, and claims the motivation for calling him out on the activity stems from his recent support for anti-gun measures:

"They're trying to discredit me in some kind of way because I agreed with the gun deals that I pushed through," said Mainor, who's also chair of New Jersey's Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee. "We're losing babies, and if the best they can do is come back and say, 'He shouldn't have Big Bootie Freaks,' then I say, 'Hey, you shouldn't have guns.'"

As for when he plans to "unlike" the provocative sites, Mainor says that'll happen just as soon as his daughter shows him how.

    "What kind of lowlife likes violent videos of people being assaulted."
    Apparently most of America since shows like "America's Funniest Home Video's" are so popular. Cmon, don't pretend that America doesn't have a fascination with people getting in accidents. Look at some of the most viewed video's on YouTube.
    I think most Americans are judgmental a55hats that hold politicians to standards they themselves don't hold to.

    @Fishbone345 - BIG difference between AFV cute puppies and skateboarders falling on their butts and the violent fight videos and porn videos that this ahole is peeping. How you spend your spare time tells a lot about a person.

    @AntiBullshit No, it doesn't. How he performs on the job is all we should be concerning ourselves with. What he does in his own time is only his business. I wouldn't want to be judged and no one else should be either.
    And for your info, AFV didn't stick with cute puppies, as the show went on, the most popular videos were of kids hitting dad with a baseball or something similar. There are several shows on History and TLC that are nothing but video of horrendous accidents. So, American DOES have a fascination with violence and this man is no worse than they are.

I see a difference in laughing at some moron who does a stunt and it goes bad in that he did it to himself without anyone forcing him to do so. Fans of Violent assaults as is shown all over the internet by thugs and punks are not the kind of people I want in public office. Including this guy.

    @Fishbone345 - I disagree. While the fair on AFV is screened, the violent videos on the "knock you out" and the porn on "big booties" is freely distributed as over the top, unedited violence and porn. IF you were to find that Bush or Reagan had a little fetish to look at such things, would you give them a pass? At what level to we give our current public officials a pass? How about if his "big booties" website shows underage children? Is that then OK for him to be a fan? Or how about the "knock you out" site? What if he likes to see stabbings? Is that different? Or snuff films? Are those not fascinating violence? Where do you cross the line?

    IMO: Public officials have no business and no right to view, participate in or attend live shows of violence and demeaning sexual activities. Leave that to the private perverts hiding in the shadows.

    Unfortunately for political figures, they are put at a much higher level of accountability and decency...don't like it...leave the political scene and become a regular citizen...

    Is what not his surfing it was his facebook page. Clicking like on facebook broadcast that like to all of your facebook friends. It also shows on your public profile if you allow anyone to see what links you liked.

    These things seldom bother me because of the content, exactly, but because I feel a savvy statesmen should either skip things like this when he's in the public eye and/or be brilliantly clever enough to never have it come to light. When they get caught, it makes me question whether they're cut out for politics.

    My problem here is that he likes violence. Serious violence. Intentional violence. And why does he feel the need to tell the world about it by clicking "like"? What kind of immature person will identify themselves to the public at large concerning big butts and violence when they know they are under scrutiney from the public. If you or I watch porn every day for 4 hours and we are nobodies are we going to go on Facebook and say "i'm a pervert who likes violence"? I don't think so. I don't he's mature enough to be in power.

    No biggie if there are only the two, but if it turned out that he spent most of his day on porn and smut, then his judgement might be suspect.

    The story didn't mention his age. So, is he mid/late 20's early 30's... with the mind of a 15-year old? This fool sounds like the East Coast version of former Detroit mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick.
