he is too far up the un's rear and their small arms treaty. when a guy says he doesn't think people should own guns,says all that needs to be said about the guy on this issue. even things he does he tries and blame our guns even when it is his crew doing it. needs to be removed from office charged for every murder done with guns he gave the cartels as well as all others in office involved.when or if they get out then hand them over to mexico to charge.

I'm concerned that the actions of one disturbed individual have the power to catalyze curbing our rights in the name of public safety. Not only that, but it's ignoring what could be reformed in the mental healthcare system where these maniacs belong. They don't do what they do because of their access to certain types of guns, they do it because they're deranged.

He knows his proposals aren't effective. He knows gun control itself is inneffective, he comes from Chicago. Less than 300 individuals killed in school shootings dating back to 1690 is a drop in the bucket compared to the million or so rapes, robberies, and murders prevented every year due to personal gun ownership. At this time we have no problems with Obama's gun laws. Congress and the Senate tossed them back into his face laughing. Guns founded this country and will be around forever. There is no other way. People will not give up their guns until they are sure the criminals have done so too. And since criminals do not obey the law, then we will keep them. As for him doing an order and eliminating the 2nd amendment. That would be real interesting and I think the powers that be would regret it as soon as it happened. Obama is undoubtedly ignorant. But is he insane?

Banning assault rifles and hi-capacity magazines would not have stopped the Aurora shooting deaths or the Sandy Hook murders. Those crimes were committed using a shotgun and a handgun but the media overlooked those facts. BTW, the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting, never did. never mind that the last 10 year gun ban had no effect on crime statistics. A government should live in fear of its people not the other way around. What he proposing wont do any good. He is setting things up for a national registry. That gives him or the next president the means to confiscate guns. Which is an attack on the second amendment. Considering assault weapons make only a very tiny percentage of gun crime, it will have no real effect and they'll turn to banning other firearms. This is only the tip of the iceberg from the gun grabbing nuts. News out of New York "handguns are the real problem"...this only a month after banning a wide rage of weapons deemed 'assault weapons' based on cosmetic factors.
