I wonder what Jan Brewers stance on our military actions have been over the last couple of decades.
Definition of Irony - Supporting military actions across the globe on the War on Terror & then informing us how shoddily our borders are protected.

@PoliticalSpice Well, it's true she doesn't use it much, but I'd prefer she keep her head attached to her neck. And if you could stop channeling Ted Nugent, that would be great.

This creature is flakier than Pillsbury. Apparently nobody has paid attention to it in the last 5 minutes. No doubt she can see Mexico from her back window. She is like Palin only needing a face lift and brain transplant from A. B. Normal (Young Frankenstein).

God you Obama people are a classless bunch. Grow up and Man Up and stop making comments one might expect from an orphaned 13 year old girl gang memberr.

    HOG WASH!!!

Gov. Brewer is absolutely correct in her assertion. This president and his shoulder borne parrot in DHS have violated their oath of office for not protecting the sovereignty of this countries borders! All we get is BS=Barry Soetoro from this mis-administration. I live 20 miles from the border that separates us from Mexico. We see these incursion every day without proper enforcement. It's not ICE or the Border Patrols fault either, their being restrained and muzzled by these phony miscreants in our govt.

Our Sheriffs in Maricopa, Penal, and Cochise counties have complained of this incursion incessantly, only to be ignored.

The best this 'ersatz' president and DHS have done, is to erect signs up to 70 miles from the Mexican border along major roadways in Arizona warning the residents that ILLEGAL and DRUG CARTELS may be encountered in their travels in OUR OWN COUNTRY! Wise-Up!!!

    Check this out...

Thanks for the news flash. Do you know what else? If you build a fence, they will fly over it, tunnel under it, or float around it. I can also assure you that there are American citizens living near the border waiting for them with open arms.
  • !
Thank you for stating the obvious. The way to handle drugs cartels is legalize, tax, treat us like adults in a nation with liberty. I and many other americans want security only to keep criminals and terrorist out. Many americans like me feel our mexican neighbors are more then welcome, should have a right to come and go as they please and will help them to do so. Mexicans, are in essense using non-violent means to reclaim territory taken from them, all this militarization of the border, is just part of the war that stole land from mexico, like the war in vietnam, the u.s. will lose. Miltiarization of society is just another way to reduce our liberty.
  • !
@PoliticalSpice "Mexicans, are in essense using non-violent means to reclaim territory taken from them"
This isn't the Mexican army, this is a bunch of thugs killing people and making problems everywhere they go. They are organized crime, nothing more nothing less and to try and make them into noble Mexican warriors is just absurd. They are thugs with guns, trying to impress their might on those weaker than they. They are the definition of what our military should be fighting.

@PoliticalSpice @Fishbone345 I think that there is some truth in each of your comments. I don't agree that any foreign citizens should be able to come and go as they please, especially murderous criminals. On the other hand, blaming Mexicans for American drug problems is like blaming the pizza delivery boy for making you fat.
  • !
@Fishbone345 most mexicans coming into the u.s. are honest hard working people. If you want to believd most mexicans are part of criminal cartels we disagree so strongly it makes no sense to debate the issue.
  • !
@PoliticalSpice "most mexicans coming intothe u.s. are honest..."

I ddidn't have to read any further. ALL Mexicans entering the u.s. without permission are CRIMINALS. I could give a rats ass about why they came here, they ate still here illegally and therefore criminals.
Further, bc they are undocumented, they do not pay income tax, another federal offense.
Finally, they steal free education and healthcare, more felonies.

If that's your definition of honest...

The republicans, when had the opportunity did nothing because they wanted the cheap labor. The democrats are doing nothing because they want to inhance their social agenda and increase their vote. The working people of this country are as usual sucking hind teet.
  • !
I wonder how many of the previous 3 posters live on or have recently been on the border. If you want to believe the biased governmental statements you should have your head examined. The government does not want to admit what the true situation is on the border; they just supply drug cartels with "fast and furious" guns so they can cross at will.
  • !
Immigration reform and a path to citizenship will pass. Right wing bigots cannot stop it. Mexicans will continue to enter the u.s. without authorization unless you allow those without criminal history to come and go unmolested. Illegal drugs are not the issue. They could destroy the cartels by restoring liberty, treating us like adults responsible for our own lives and decriminalizing and taxing drugs.
And people like me will continue to push for right to citzenship over and over until non-criminal mexicans can freely come and go as they please because the land was stolen from them by the u.s. using terorist tactics of murder and violence.
  • !
They'll keep coming until you allow them? You really don't use logic in your thoughts, do you? The only way to stop them is to block them... With a wall.
  • !
@Hireman It's you who fail to use logic in your thoughts. If you buils a wall they will tunnel under it or use ladders or lifts or fly small aircraft to get over it.

Too many americans support the right of non-violent mexicans to come unmolested, and we will, again and again, periodically pass laws legalizing the status of each new generation of those who artive unauthorized because we feel the land was stolen from them...
  • !
@PoliticalSpice You can't stop people from crossing the border without employing a real method. Tunnels can be collapsed, Plains can be intercepted. It's literally an invasion. However, your information is inaccurate. Most Americans not only oppose "the right of non-violent mexicans to come unmolested", but actually deporting the ones that are here illegally. There IS a way non-violent Mexicans to come here, it's called a visa or work permit. Please point out the lack of logic in anything I've said.
  • !
@Hireman There is logic in what you say from the point of veiw that the u.s. was right in taking the land from mexico. I simply do not share that belief. I view the situation as a land dispute, and think the mexicans are seeking to re-occupy their territory non-violently. I support that effort.
  • !
@PoliticalSpice So, you think the US should give up TX, NM, AZ and CA to Mexico? Does the "give up" also include the other areas that has been "taken" over throughout the US?
IMO this immigration is not only a few states, is not only 11 million people and is not only a drug problem. The US is all "stolen" property. Mexicans/Spanish stole from the natives. Europeans stole from the natives. Hell, natives probably stole from the existing natives, who stole from the animals, who stole from the single cell........etc!
Just once in my life, I'd like to quite hearing about what "we" did to the Mexicans, African American's, Japanese, Irish, Germans, California Condor, Dodo bird., Gray whale......<face in palms>

liberals want no responsibilities to society or for the most part for themselves. They want what others can provide for them with little or no imput of their own.In a progressive liberals mind,it will always be some one elses fault that they fall short of being able to take care of their self.
  • !
The borders are not legitimate. The land was taken from mexico using terrorist tactics of murder and violence. Mexicans are taking the land back non- violently. It is a continuation of that war, and like vietnam, the u.s. will lose.
Democrats may very well admit the u.s. can police its borders, but democrats are are but one party in a two party system of u.s. imperialism. Those who support the mexican people know the claim that mexicans should not be allowed free access to their own land are wrong. Viva Zapata!
  • !
@PoliticalSpice No argument here, just a question? Your Saying that California and the rest of the Southwest should surrender to Mexico and become vassel states of that country?
  • !
@zeke well I don't think its practical to talk surrender in the context of a non-violent occupation, I'm just saying it was their land, it was stolen through murder and force, and I support the right of non-violent mexicans to come and go as they please. I wouldn't want to cede the primacy of the u.s. constitution. Nor am I for having wide open borders that terrorist could cross at will, but until u.s. starts recognizing the natural rights of people of mexico to freely come and go, I know which side of that issue I support...

@texas_cutie75 Often that is true when they are out of their element, though certain tattoos and clothing are often worn by the cartels as a way of identifying themselves, similar to the old style gangs in the US.
  • !
@texas_cutie75 Yep, which is why "limpios" cartel members, those without criminal records and tattoos etc are often groomed to become US Immigrations and Customs agents (ICE), and Border Patrol Agents (La Migra). With cartel members infiltrated into the US government positions, they can help their business and fight competition among rival cartels.

Of course border patrol and customs claim it is at a 2 year low, but that could just as easily mean they just aren't catching the illegals, or a straight up lie altogether.
But hell, our leadership wants them hear, it helps the approval rating, don't ya know?
  • !
The government is so used to us buying this nonsense that they blatantly just tell us lies knowing we'll just ignore them. We all know the border isn't secure. How can it be? Pregnant women still enter this country from Mexico and make it to U.S. hospitals to deliver their anchor babies. We have "documentation" that says less illegals are crossing the border. Well, duh! Most are here already and the rest don't come because our economy is too bad for it to be worth their while. We still have signs in Arizona, near the border telling Americans not to enter the area because it's not safe. If it's not safe, then it's not secure. Pretty simple really.

Thanks for stating the obvious. Legalize, tax, and allow people to make their own adult decisions in a soceity that respects liberty...
  • !
@PoliticalSpice "make their own adult decisions in a society that respects liberty...". Do these "adult decisions" include responsibility for making poor decisions? I know I not the only person in the US that's tired of hearing that drug addiction and alcohol addiction is a disease. If these are "diseases", then so is cigarette smoking and many other "decisions". Adult decisions must include responsibility.....
  • !
    @stepped_in_it
    Absolutely.
There's no reason why addiction to drugs should be viewed any differently than addiction to anything else that eats up your time and prevents you from being responsible. The internet can do that to some people. Some people argue its different because its chemical but so is everything else that influences us because when we perceive through our senses and make decisions about what to do that also involves a series of chemical reactions. That our thoughts and feelings are chemical reactions does not mean they are beyond our control. Chemistry is required to send signals to our limbs and make them work. That doesn't mean you don't control it when you stand up and walk.
If someone is addicted to something and can't find the will power to break the addiction without some kind of social or other support they should be responsible for paying for it, not taxpayers.
And some drugs can only really be done responsibly if the setting is controlled. I don't want people just taking PCP where ever they want. There should be "controlled drug use stores" where licensed professionals supervise the person and keep them and others from harm.
  • !
@stepped_in_it - "Do these "adult decisions" include responsibility for making poor decisions?" Of course they do! That's why we have DUI laws, public drunk ordinances and regulated places for sales...

Firstly, she is an idiot and a blatant liar. The fact that she is a governor is a disgrace to every citizen of that state. Secondly, NO AMOUNT of border defense is going to keep out evil men determined to enter the country, you could spend a trillion a year have guards stationed at 50 feet intervals along our MASSIVE border and coastline and they will still get through. She is just riling up her base which consists of paranoid imbeciles like her. Ignore her and if the people of that state have any sense left in their head then they will vote her out of office and never let her in office again at any level of government.
  • !
You know the fence built by Israel to prevent Palestinian terrorist from crossing their border has worked in that part of the world. However you are correct about the scale of our border with Mexico being huge, I guess it comes down to the amount of resources we are willing spent as a country.
  • !
@zeke they have a smaller border and they have towers with embedded machine guns watching their border to protect themselves from Hamas. We have no military need to defend our borders from people willing to do manual labor that lazy Americans refuse to do.
  • !
@DrFunkenstein Actually the fence i'm referring to is along the west bank where the PNA is in control, this fennce is 430 mi's long which is nothing to sneeze at. There is a partially completed fence between Gaza, " where Hamas is in control" and Egypt, the Egyptians control this section of fence. But i guess i'm off topic here, but i don't see how we can let this situation continue indefintely, we need workers but not the crimminals.

Who thinks what Jan saw was just run of the mill mexicans gathered up for a crossing and not "drug cartels" at all? Now I'm not a fan of the illegal immigration and all but to make out like they're drug cartels invading under cover of darkness is a bit much. Why would the drug gangs cross at night en masse when they have people here already?
  • !
Jan probably saw a group of migrant farm workers and said to herself "ooh, small brown Catholic people, they must be part of those vicious criminal drug cartels." The woman wouldn't know a duck if it quacked in her ear.
  • !
We live in New Mexico. We KNOW it's not secure. BTW, re the Drug Cartels ready to cross the border, they're probably Jonesing for more "assault rifles" (sic) now that Eric Holder and the BATFE have cut off their supply for the time being, lol.
