Sarah Palin has finally weighed in on the sequester. She explained on her Facebook page that we shouldn't worry about spending cuts. The real danger is that America will default on its debt, and that's why the feds have been making large bullet purchases - to control "civil unrest."
If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we're running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we're done. Put a fork in us. We're finished. We're going to default eventually and that's why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.
She added, "The real economic Armageddon looming before us is our runaway debt, not the sequester."
Palin's theory isn't entirely new. It's circulated since at least last year via chain email and been debunked by Snopes.com, according toThe Atlantic Wire. The rumor has also been debunked by the NRA's statistics wing, who defend the federal government's ammo purchases as necessary for training and arming so many different agents.

@martydotcom I know the theory isn't all that new and have read about its purposes from both sides. Still, I haven't made up my mind about what I believe is really happening. I certainly understand the govn't needs ammo.
You cannot fault Palin for being a superb Golddigger. The woman got a taste of real money, quite the governorship and has been banking ever since. She has the qualifications every single gold digger in history has had. Looks, a massive amount of greed and the ability to find a niche and mine that glory hole for every nugget it holds.
Sounds crazy, right? But it sounded crazy when Jesse Venturra ( IDK HOW HE SPELLS HIS NAME) did that story about the 6 Super Prisons in 6 different regions of America that can hold 250,000 people, with 100,000 caskets stored at each one, fenced in with barb wire and a sign on it that says Dept of FEMA. But there they are standing pround. Or the underground city in the Ozarks, that spans 12 sq miles under ground, estimated that 100,000 could live there. But it's there. The fact is that someone knows something that the rest of us do not, and they are getting prepared. Why would FEMA need a million rounds of Ammo and weapons, why would IRS need to purchase over a million rounds and weapons. While at the same time down sizing our military, and down sizing our ability to defend ourselves. Believe Palin, or not, that's up to you. Go ahead and hope for the best, hope your gov't ( or whoever is really running the show these days) is being honest and will always look out for you, but your ass better prepare for the worst. I see no reason to trust our gov't, they put us against one another, which is simple divide and conquer tactics. Dems you feel you have been lied to for years, and now Reps feel that same way, and now we fight over minor BS made to look BIG. I say if all this does not look strange to you, if in your heart you believe your gov't will protect you, then I sure hope you are right, for all our sakes. But, if you are wrong...? Well I prepare, no harm in that, if I don't ever need my preperations, great? But if I do, at least I go down fighting.
Sarah Palin makes a lot of sense. I, too, was wondering why Government agencies were stockpiling bullets--hollow point at that. There is SURELY the possiblity of default. And that would surely lead to civil unrest among more than the poor.
Read the article --She MAKES NO SENSE Palin's theory isn't entirely new. It's circulated since at least last year via chain email and been debunked by Snopes.com , according to The Atlantic Wire. Oops. Meant to vote up Marty, not you. Take his advice -- read the Politix article you're commenting on, then The Atlantic Monthly article they link and the Snopes article which debunks the chain email.
I've found that chain emails from an anonymous original source are a very, very bad source of information.
@PoliticalSpice on 9/10/01 no one had any idea 19 terrorist would use 4 airliners as weapons of mass destruction in the most coordinated terror attack on American soil. On December 6th, 1941 no one had any idea the Japanese fleet were less than 24 hours out from Oahu.
Anything is possible. Even secession. April 12, 1861. Charleston Harbor.
@Republican5150 No, but prior to both 9/11 and the planned attack on LA international airport. Both incidents lacked specific information. Yet one adminstration acted on the alert. The other did not. Guess which attack was prevented...
Well I'd just be happy if the government was actually pulling the trigger themselves insted of selling guns to gangs cartels and third world countries who in turn sell them to us so in a way they.have been killing us for a long time byproxie
It is because even the lowliest rank of federal agent can usually carry a handgun. That is a lot of handguns, and a lot of ammo. They probably buy in "bulk" so to speak, it is probably cheaper. They likely do this quite regularly as the ammo is used up or more likely expires, and this time it is only seen as out of the ordinary because Palin brought it up and the extreme right wing eats this stuff up.
@Ch4osWe4veR that is part of but this was an unusual amount. Several times the amount. The only " conspiracy" theory I can come up was some one knew about the gun proposals coming and bought a huge supply in anticipation of this current panic buying. I kind of did the same. I bought up a years worth in October. I'm glad I did. But I go through a lot of ammo anyway.
@Ch4osWe4veR hope you don't mind me chiming in here - there are no proposed ammo bans, but there are ideas being floated about massively taxing ammo. gun supporters have been buying more since Obama was first elected. you can easily see the effects of these theories by asking your local gunshop for .223, .308, or even .40 cal. i hate to think of civil unrest, but it is one theory you don't want to be unprepared for.
Good Grief, can't wait to read what the commie's are going to say about this story. Everyone better get ready for a civil war soon coz us true red blooded Americans won't be standing on the side lines for ever. This is going to be bad.
@Cheenoguy Someone born and raised here in the US, unlike obama. Someone who loves this country, unlike both of the obama's. Someone who does not want to be on a government handout. Someone who is not an 'Entitlist', someone who doesn't hate a rich guy just because some commie said that I should (obama). Someone who'll kick butt when a commie tries to take my freedom's away, and not just lye down because their worried that their entitlements will be taken away!
@justapirate Dude, this girl was born and raised in 'bubba land'(Knoxville, TN) I just don't like people that wasn't born or raised here in this country and then come over here after being raised by a group of Chrisian hating muslims in indonesia and try to take my freedoms away. Someone that hates-hates-hates, hates the rich - although obama is rich, hates the whites, hates the Constitution, hates the 1st amendment (when it's from someone like me), hates the 2nd amendment (unless it's protecting him and his family), hates Israel, hates the true Christians because obama is no true Christian, hates this great country and wants to drive us into poverty. So if you're anybody like that, some entitled, lazy piece of pie whole, then you don't count to me but you still have a right to express yourself. But yet, so do I and commie boy wants to take that away from me.
@I_Love_America So basically Fox fed, ignorant of reality, paranoid hillbillies. That was my original assumption but thanks for proving it.
Just because I love laughing at ignorance please explain what makes Obama a communist.
While you are at it please explain how living most of his childhood in Hawaii isn't being raised in America.
Please explain why the guy you thinks hates Israel didn't condemn the atrocities they recently committed against the Palestinians.
How has Obama limited free speech?
Finally, please explain why your interpretation of Christian mythology is any more valid then Obama's. Pleasw explain what he believes about god n Jesus and why it is less relevant then what your preacher tells you to believe.
I'll grab some popcorn and prepare to read you try to deal with reality.
Last time I checked, Homeland Security doesn't operate outside the borders and they're stockpiling ammunition "for practice" to shoot who, or is it whom?
Since hollow point pistol ammunition isn't in high demand for the armed forces to use on outside the border targets, who are they practicing to shoot? Yep.. AMERICANS.
Now Sarah may be putting a bit of a spin on her comments, she is right but that's not something many people are willing to admit. Were Sarah Palin to publicly state that two plus two equals four.... the liberal media would hire twenty global warming "experts" to explain SCIENTIFICALLY how it's actually not true...
Gotta love her, Sarah can sure get the liberal's fired up.
DHS includes the Coast Guard and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. I imagine those two agencies go through a largish amount of ammo annually. And that's not including the needs of Customs & Border Protection or the Secret Service. http://goo.gl/DDWBW
That's what I was thinking too. Palin is like a Merry Melodies cartoon character. I cannot forget what happened in Anaheim CA last summer, therefore I cannot discount the possibility that she might be correct.
I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to Politix Mary. Any time something is posted about Sarah Palin it makes my day. Stockpiling bullets for use against Americans. HAHAHAHAHA. Hopefully Ms Palin will run for the Presidency in 2016. I will be happy to throw my support behind her in the GOP primaries because I feel she best represents what the GOP stands for - paranioa, hostility towards facts and low intelligence! RUN SARAH RUN!
You may not agree with or like Palin, but she is right that we should be concerned over the massive stockpile of ammo that domestic agencies have been acquiring the last year. They claim it is for training purposes, but you wouldn't think training purposes requires as much ammo as was used in 10 years of the Iraq war. Something fishy is going on in this administration. They know something that we don't.
Seriously, Politix? You've been quoting Limbaugh, Coulter and now Palin as though they are to be taken seriously. The GOP does have better voices and some of them are actual politicians who represent The Republican Party instead of reality TV or shock jock radio.(Though I'll grant you, it's getting harder and harder to see the dividing line.)
They,ve quoted obama on the sequester, gun control with Obiden and his shotgun, the female democrats wanting to ban automatic weapons, and Kerry, so quit your bitching. Politix is the most fair on the amount they give for all sides. You may not agree with the writer or reporter but it's not one sided like CNN and Fox.
@MadAmerican I know you don't like it but Mr. Obama, Mr. Biden and Mr. Kerry are actual members of our government and very high-ranking ones at that. Their comments on government policy are germane. Ms. Palin, OTOH, is in the same line of work as Snooki. It is the GOP who should not want her out there being foolish on their behalf -- you'll notice liberals always rejoice when she starts those gums a flappin'.
@Zazziness Face the facts-Politix covers everyone. Yes-can't stand Obiden and Obama, but that has nothing to do with your statement. You're just mad because she has a point. If it does happen and people are killed over this I'll be the first to ask you how many rounds you got left.
@MadAmerican She doesn't have a point -- she's repeating an old chain email that's been publically debunked. I'm not really made but I'm big on fair play and I didn't think it was fair Politix is making the GOP a laughingstock by choosing the most embarrassing "conservatives" possible for comment. But reading your defense of Palin, maybe Politix truly is reflecting the real GOP by making Palin its mouthpiece. If so, I pity the GOP.
