May 10 MarkJM v Fair Miss him yet? Look how the country is now with 0bama. When Bush left gas was (on average based on the local area I live in) $1.83 a gallon. Grocery bill was approx. $100 every two weeks. Unemployment was 5.3%. National Debt was at $9 Trillion. With 0bama today: Gas $3.50, Grocery $200/two weeks, Unemployment 7.5% (was as high as 10.2% under 0bama), Current National Debt $17 Trillion. Shoot, I wish we had Bush back at this point. Hate to say it, but we are worse off with 0bama. Post
May 8 Calfkiller v Fair Better than Obama's in spite of fighting two wars. Whether or not you agree with the Iraq War you have to considered that an all star list of top Democrats were necessary to make it happen. And make it happen they did. Post

Apr 27 Concerned_Cit v Good The first 4 years good, with the exception of the Patriot Act. The middle years the worst decision was his second Attorney General pick. That guy was terrible. The last 2 years of the Bush presidency were terrible when he gave in to the Democrats big spending and bailout agendas. B1 e1 endorsed Post
Apr 27 keyfitter v Bottom-of-the-barrel Bush was no conservative, but at least he wasn't as obnoxious and destructive as the current dictator. Calling the Constitution "just a GD piece of paper" and passing the so-called PATRIOT ACT deserves a thumbs-down. B1 Post

u Mar '13 PrintMediaGoon v Good He had the best of intentions, and troubled execution. Perhaps he was too loyal to subordinates that were not up to the task. A better commander and chief than his predecessor and successor B1 Post
u Mar '13 songbird v Bottom-of-the-barrel Bush was warned many times about the coming attack. Then when the attack happened it smacked of Operation Northwoods. He even had a fast track visa program for people from the Middle East. He was a puppet president with Cheney pulling the strings. And the war was a ruse to have an excuse to go into the region and oil companies take over the oil. Just a profiteer for the war industry and oil industry. Post
Mar '13 armed_liberal v Bottom-of-the-barrel Bush was a coked up party boy with the maturity of an 8th grade boy. MC Hammer is better with money. He ruined our economy and it will take several decades to undo the Bush damage. Post
Mar '13 wangotango v Fair He definitely wasnt one the greatest but he wasnt the worst either. Theres no room in the bottom of the barrel for Mr. Bush since obama has that space occupied. Post
u Mar '13 Mr_Galt v Fair Another reason for me to hate King Obama - he made me rank George Bush as being a "Fair" President instead of a bottom of the barrel one. Ugh. Well at least Barack has earned that lowest rating from me now... I fear for our country.... B1 Post
Mar '13 PNWest v Bottom-of-the-barrel Warned at least 28 times prior to 9/11 about bin Laden planning to attack the US - did nothing. Inherited a budget surplus from Clinton. Squandered surplus on two unfunded wars, tax cuts that disproportionally benefited the wealthy. Unfunded Rx benefit program that benefited the drug companies and did nothing to lower the cost of drugs. Failed to capture of kill bin Laden. "Mission Accomplished". Lied about WMD to start unnecessary war in Iraq. Katrina - "Heck of a job Brownie". Refused to regulate sub-prime mortgage industry even after it was obvious that abuse were rampant. This led to the biggest economic collapse since the Great Depression. During the regime of GW ... B7 r17 replies e69 endorsed Post
o Mar '13 NTBFW v Good I know that the left wont give him any credit. But he was much better than he will ever get credit for. All I can say is he accepted the blame for a lot of things he was unfairly accused of. There is so much he couldn't say about the Iraq war and his war on terrorism that would change a lot of people's opinion of him if they knew the whole story. It takes a lot of character to know you are right about something and not defend yourself to protect people and do what needed done. I hate the patriot act. I didn't feel it was right. It's not. I do KNOW one thing. He has a lot more integrity than he will ever get credit for. B1 r5 replies e18 endorsed Post
Mar '13 Tralee v Among the best At the end of the day, while he did go on a spending spree when the Dems. took over the house and senate, he was a good man, with no other agenda than doing the very best thing for his country, not himself. Mar '13 maddogusn v Fair I think Bush did what he thought was right. 9 months in his presidency we had to deal with a major terrorist attack on our soil and 3000 American's dead. While at the same time average gas prices in 2000 were $1.58 and when he left it was only $2.82. http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=EMM_EPMR_PTE_NUS_DPG&f=W Unemployment was 4.2% when he entered office and stayed roughly even at %5 when he left. http://portalseven.com/employment/unemployment_rate.jsp In 2005 the Senate housing committee had declared that Fannie and Freddie were stable and required no regulation. Mar '13 PNWest @methinks "Warned of bin Landen: Clinton could have taken care of him but was too busy not having sexual relations with that woman." - BS - Clinton tried and failed to get bin Laden. GOP flayed him for the attempt. Bush was warned at least 28 times and did nothing. The budget surplus myth...again. A surplus because of the use of creative accounting and borrowing of money from other places, including SS. - Clinton - budget surplus, Bush squandered it. Facts are facts. Tax cuts benefited EVERYONE, not just the rich. - Rich got at least 70% of the cuts. Peanuts to the rest. WMD's: Info was from the CIA and the majority of Congress voted for it. If Bush "li...
